The Relationship between Sex and Love The Relationship between Sex and Love Question Drawing from several recent researches in the United States, romantic love and emotions shares some mutual relationship to sexual feeling. Concepts of emotions and sexual relationships are fundamentals to building of complimentary insights between two couples involved. To start with, emotions and the feeling of love are profusely rational in nature. Their occurrence is significant to the coordination of social interactions thus finally leading to sexual intercourse among the partisans. Secondly, love that is expressed by individual shapes the content of the relationship hence arousing the feeling to have sexual action with a partner (Fisher, 2011). Social function accounts of love illustrates that love induces emotions and coordinates the interactions between couples who are associated with a sense of intimacy. Therefore, an emotion instigates the instinct of a person to have sex. Driven by emotions, love acts as the foundation of getting into a sexual intercourse, which is critical for procreation of children. The main variation between love and sex is the response time of the partisans. Concerning the issue of sex, psychologists have discovered that people respond differently to actual intimacy. For instance, women respond fairly towards having sex within a specific framework of social interaction because their emotional signals of getting into the sexual act are based on the motives of love. This is in contrary to men who are non-expressive about their emotional display and instead, guided by the assumption of social function to have sex even when they do not mean to love (Fisher, 2011). Question 2 In contrast to sexual desire driven by emotions or feelings, some couples possibly engage into sexual affair without having love as a uniting factor. Several researches have pointed out that the psychological situation and behavioral circumstances promote engagement into sexual faction between two individuals even if they are not in love. In essence, issues of divorce and separation are often associated with typical American families where women are the most common victims. As such, the women seem to be mediated by psychological desire to have sex thus finding themselves having fallen into sex traps without having a share of love. Some of the psychologists such as Diamond points out evidence that a person can engage in a sexual act without any proper love relationship with his partner due to desire for satisfaction alone (Marietta, 1996). Basing, his arguments on biological aspects, Diamond argues that a person can feel romantic love without sexual desires while some other people may only be agitated to have sex with a partner in the absence of romantic love. His arguments were supported by the fact that hormones such as estrogens and androgens drive the feeling and control human body towards sexual need. Moreover, love always undergoes shifting levels with time thus deteriorating the sexual desire between couples. Therefore, it gets to a point where couples moves away from serving the role of romantic love to fulfilling their sexual desires. Consequently, some people use sex to gain escapisms in a relationship. This is not different from being involved to any other irrational behavior. For instance, a divorced person who thinks a partner in a marriage relationship has disappointed her may engage in sex without love only to avoid the pain of loneliness (Marietta, 1996). Question3 The view of infatuation, sexual desire and love play a vital role in coordination of relationship between couples. It has been noted that sexual intimacy serves a direct link to the amount of love a person has towards his partner. Couples who flirt a lot often enjoy a harmonious relationship characterized by sexual intimacy. Such couple stands a better position of enjoying sexual intercourse as compared to those with improper relationship. Besides, sexual intimacy is considered necessary in a relationship because it indicates the level of affection and comfort between the partners. In addition, sexual intimacy shows the amount of love partners has towards each other. In a love relationship, the partisan wants to feel the comfort for each other because this in turn culminates to transparency, closeness and sexual intimacy, which is best enhanced by love relationships (Rutter & Schwartz, 2012). Some theorists have brought it to the limelight more similar to emotions that love relationships serve a bigger purpose of arousing commitments towards having a sexual desire. As such, within a shorter duration of love relationships, people develop feelings towards having sexual intimacy. Moreover, love relations serve to institute a bond of commitment between couples thus leading to an improvement on the sexual intimacy and establishment of emotions, and this reflects the performance of the partners. A different view as to when love relationship begins is when agreement has been laid. Quite a good number of psychologists have come to an agreement that both mind and the body interact in a matter of showing emotional satisfaction of intimacy. Love relationships justify the level of intimacy between partners as such, conclusions can be drawn with the aim of confirming love relations to validate intimacy leading to a sexual between the associate partners (Rutter & Schwartz, 2012). Question4 Most psychology scholars have pointed out that it is hard to sustain sexual relationships without having sexual intercourse and with more supportive evidence; sexual intimacy would give way to love amongst the partners. Besides, having sex is considered quite essential in sustaining relationship and the expansive network to harmonize a sense of togetherness. In most fleeting situations, a person would always think on the best possible action he should take in order to gain access to a sexual relationship. Whatever such circumstances, the feelings of being in love would enhance the emotions of an individual before ultimately thinking about how to engaged into a sexual act with whom the attention has been drawn. Besides, it helps in enhancing stronger relationship bonds between two partners (Diamond, 2008). In a sexual relationship, attraction does not only involve engagement on the physical appearance of the partners, but it must also involve some physical traits that trigger relationship towards having sexual affair. The feeling of being in love is a fundamental concept towards a sexual relationship hence being closer to each other is substantial for creating of immense attraction between the love partners. Some of the attraction techniques involved include eye contact and a smile which is considered to be the first instance of attraction. Through eye contact and a smile, lust to indulge in sexual activity is instigated. Therefore, eye contact and a smile is a mutual contact to the realization of the need to be engaged into effective sex. Because, when a person is very close to his partner, he experiences high mode of attraction and soon feel the need to have sex (Diamond, 2008). Very low speech is also considered highly positive in drawing the attention of an individual to a sexual relationship. Low speech indicates relative confidence about an affair, whereas seductive voice is easily absorbed leading to the perception that whatever spoken about love is very special towards a sexual relationship. Enthusiasm is also had appositive impact towards the issue of attraction and relationship. It is believed that enthusiasm makes the relationship quite passionate and romantic as it draws instant attraction from the people involved. Positive interactions through gesture and speech instigate a positive trend leading to improved sexual confidence (Diamond, 2008). Conclusion Despite usual challenges, acceptance can be made that love relations and sexual desires are driven by emotions though it varies with the situations and distance between the partners involved. From this research, love relations are very important because they give insight of what is believed to arouse the sexual desire. This causes some individuals to sacrifice their own social pursuits at the expense of having sex even where love does not exist. References: Fisher, M. (2011). Loves Evolver.
