Psychology Discussion Cerebral cortex is the most potent part of the mammal’s brain, and it is divided into four lobes namely, the frontal lobe, the parietal lobe, the temporal lobe, and the occipital lobe (Nevid, 2011 p.57). The frontal lobe is found at the front of the brain and it is associated with higher- level cognition, reasoning, expressive language and motor skills (Nevid, 2011 p.57). The parietal lobe is located at the center of the brain, and it is mandated to carryout various psychological functions such as integrating all the information from the cortical areas.

The integrated information forms a complex behavior pattern involving various senses including touch, vision and body awareness. The temporal lobe is concerned in the production and comprehension of spoken language. The occipital lobe construes visual information and stimuli with the help of primary visual cortex it holds.Damages to the frontal lobe of the brain may cause changes in sexual behaviors of the victim since his or her reasoning is impaired (Nevid, 2011 p.68). Depending with the side of the frontal lobe damaged, the sexual inclination of the victim may introduce or reduce sexual interest.

Damages to the inferior or the orbital part of the frontal lobe may lead to the introduction of abnormal sexual behaviors while damages to the dorsolateral lesions of the frontal lobe may diminish sexual urges. To reduce the effects caused by the damages of the frontal lobe, the victim should be taken to the hospital care within minutes of injuries where they can access neurosurgical medicines.Work CitedNevid, J.
