Being in the information technology the team is in charge of all configurations the office concerning computers and their peripherals. They are mandated to ensure the data network system is up and running to ensure a smooth transition of activities in the organization.
The team’s objective is to provide an integrated communication system to the firm through the provision of cutting edge technologies that will enhance service delivery to achieve the business objectives of the organization in general (Paulus, 2009). The operations of the group are not time bound since it is expected to run indefinitely. The group is perpetual in nature in the sense that in the event of death of dismissal of one or a section of the group they will be replaced by new members who will carry on with their duties in the team. However, they do have time limited projects that they are supposed to accomplish within a specified period. In this case the discussion was part of the time-bound project and it involved issues to do on how to achieve their project goals successfully within the stipulated amount of time with the available resources (Hackman and United States, 2003).
The group has a formal structure as it is headed by a chairman who has an assistant together with a secretary the rest are team members who contribute to the team’s discussions. The president is the chief facilitator of the team’s affairs as he takes charge whenever an issue is being discussed. At this particular moment, the group was considering the mechanism that should be implemented to accomplish a certain project that the IT Manager had assigned them. The team was supposed to come up with an integrated system to monitor the manner in which employees report to job to enhance management of time and fair remunerations (Hackman and United States, 2003). The group chairman decided to convene the meeting to discuss techniques and methodologies of how to accomplish the assignment within the stipulated time
