How Physical Development Relates to Social and Cognitive Development It is relevant to admit that human development is a serious and complicated process that takes a lot of efforts and time. The progress of a particular person is an integral and individual process that functions all person’s life. It is possible to distinguish three essential branches in the development of human race. They are physical development, social development, and cognitive development (Cohen, 2013). Each of them is considered to be responsible for the particular section in the dimension of development.

Still, all three sections remain to be in interconnection with each other, and it is important to admit the close relations between physical, social and cognitive development. It is admitted that “the physical state plays a critical role in the development potential of social and cognitive skills” (Broomes, 2012). The matter is that social and cognitive developments are in extremely close connection. Cognitive potential helps effectively estimate the social environment and develops such social parameters as self-improvement and self-esteem (Broomes, 2012).

At the same time physical development functions as a “catalyst” in relation to social and cognitive skills (Broomes, 2012). Physical development of a person provides a huge influence on his/her social interactions and communication with other people. It may functions in both positive and negative way due to the physical abilities of a person. Cognitive and physical developments are represented in the most elusive and independent way. It is important to admit that for the effective absorption and cognition of new information person needs to be in normal physical state.

Still, it is possible to find the exceptions. All in all, it should be admitted that physical development is highly connected with the social and cognitive development of a person. These three components in their correlation assist person in acquiring positive or negative results in his/her development. Reference List:Broomes, G.
