Stress Reduction By Stress Reduction Stress cannot be completely removed from our lives because there is always something that needs to be sorted. Sources of stress can be from financial status, social status or health. All these types of stress can be managed to ensure that an individual leads a healthy life (Roberts, 2011). This assignment will be focusing on the stress management for the salespeople in the Frank Taylor’s automobile dealership. The salespeople were screened to determine their health conditions in order to prescribe the best therapy to reduce the individual stress. The type of personality affects the health of a person because the personality determines how stressed or relaxed one is. After a medical screening, most of the employees experienced physical stress related problems such as hypertension, high cholesterol, and migraine headaches. These results show that Type A personalities suffer from heart related diseases because they are impatient (Smith, 2002). A longitudinal study carried out by Friedman & Rosenman showed that Type A personality were predicted with heart related diseases. Therefore, every category physical problem will have a particular stress management program. Weight reduction for hypertension conditions Patients who are suffering from hypertension show that the stress level is high, and it is leading to high blood pressure. The employees who are suffering from hypertension need to manage stress so that they can reduce hypertension effects on their health (Coleman, 1998). Clients diagnosed with hypertension are not advised to start vigorous exercises because this may overwork the heart. They should take simple exercises to help them relax and not to workout, and the exercises should be done under a prescription from specialists (Smith, 2002). There are habits that are associated with high blood pressure. These are: excessive alcohol drinking, not having enough sleeping time and stress. Hence, the employee should begin practicing a healthy lifestyle of no smoking and eating a balanced diet. They should have time to relax and carry out activities that they love most. Stress is an essential problem for many people, but it has no medication because it needs the individual to have a positive attitude. Both ladies and men who are suffering from the hypertension need to have simple exercises and abstain from smoking and alcohol intake (Roberts, 2011). Consistency in exercising will be helpful because the individual will be able to track the improvements. Also, the doctor will be able to prescribe exercises that will be effective depending on the age of the individual. Young employees can do vigorous activities because they are still active, but for middle-aged workers, the gym may not be appropriate. Stress reduction: high cholesterol patients Cholesterol is a layer of fat deposits found in the blood and affects the normal functioning of the body cells. Employees with high cholesterol amount indicate that they are taking in a lot of fats in the diets and are doing less or no exercise. There is no need of making foods with high cholesterol levels because the body manufactures the fats (Smith, 2002). The employees with high cholesterol value in their body should start avoiding foods that have high levels of cholesterol. Also, they should begin simple exercises like running in a field or skipping rope. Young men can subscribe to a gym and start consistent exercising while the young women can do yoga at home that is convenient (Coleman, 1998). The middle aged and above should begin with simple exercises because of their age under the direction of psychologists. The workers can also include some foods in the meal because they have been seen to reduce the fat tissues. For example, taking raw garlic daily will reduce the fat deposits by 9-12%. Taking a half full cup of almonds will reduce the fats by 10% and eating walnuts and pistachios is effective with 20-30% (Roberts, 2011). In addition, whole barley, dark chocolates, and green tea will reduce cholesterol amounts in the body. These foods should be accompanied with regular body exercises in order to burn the fats and make the stress management program effective. High cholesterol is a potential risk for hypertension and heart related diseases. Stress reduction for migraine headaches Migraine headaches are signs of mental stress that can be caused by too much work and lack of enough time to rest. This kind of problem is confused by many people with the average headache (Smith, 2002). One will be taking painkillers consistently, and the head pain seems not to get any better. Employees who have been diagnosed with migraine headaches should take medicines that have been prescribed by the doctor. They should take time on their own to relax and unwind by separating themselves from the situations that cause stress. When unwinding, it is good to take deep breaths and relax the muscles. It will help the mind to relax and alleviate stress. For young women, they can practice yoga because it helps in treating the migraine headaches (Roberts, 2011). Take enough sleep and rest well. After working a whole day, one will require maximum time to rest so that the body can rejuvenate and function well. Lack of enough sleep may cause pain and head discomforts. In addition, the individuals should avoid thinking excessively because these poses a strain in the mind that leads to the migraine headaches (Smith, 2002). All these employees should get tips and medical checkup from the doctors in order to amend activities that are not efficient and adopt a healthy lifestyle. Stress management will help all the workers to live a healthy life with no health problems. The managing director of the Frank Taylor’s automobile dealership should encourage the employees to practice healthy tips. Further still, during working period, there should be short breaks to allow the employees to relax and to get fresh air. Staying healthy will help the workers to save medical expenses when treating the physical stress related problems (Coleman, 1998). Also, healthy workers will be able to deliver maximally during working hours without taking offs to seek medication. References Coleman, V. (1998). Stress Management Techniques.
