The spiritual leader exerts much influence on the religious faithful, and may have had some influence on the Tibetan government. In truth, Tibet has served as the centre for spiritual and artistic reflection to most parts of Asia. Sadly, this has been changing as China has been forcefully trying to impose their rule and cultural ideologies on the people of Tibet. It is this that has seen the possible rise in conflict in that region. Presently, the Dalai Lama is considered the leader of the exiled government, or in other terms, the Central Tibetan Administration. The sophisticated heritage, spiritual, and traditional ideology held by the Tibetans has spread beyond their geographical scope as a result of this exile.
After the passing of the Dalai Lama, it is crucial for their most trusted disciples to find the reincarnated master. The process may take a number of years, and the search was limited to Tibet and some of its environs. Upon some guidance from different sources believed to have spiritual power, the disciple travels to the chosen place for the reincarnated master among children who are between the ages of one and one and a half. The spiritual and geographical connection in the lives of the Tibetan people is the link between the dead master and the reincarnated one as the disciples traverse the Tibet Republic searching for the would-be Dalai Lama that would guide people on their spiritual journey.
Upon finding the child, it is crucial to prove that he might be indeed the reincarnated master.
