Extract of sample "Buddhism and Sikhism Religions"

Whereas the cycle of life in Buddhism is continuous, the cycle of life in Sikhism continues until one can attain a oneness with God; at which point is freed from the constraints of birth, life, and death.

Conversely, Hinduism and Jainism also represent a very old and relatively newer religion. Whereas many scholars argue that Hinduism may be the oldest extant religion on planet earth, Jainism only came into being around the year 600 BCE.  Hinduism on the other hand can definitively be traced back as far as 1700 BCE.  Hinduism retains no specific founder and instead rests its claim to truth based upon the universal acceptance that it seeks to inspire.   Alternatively, Jainism seeks to integrate three main principles into the life of its adherents: non-violence, nonpossession, and non-absolutism.  Both religions have an array of gods and seeking to understand their respective pantheon requires a great deal of study.
