Religious Interview Interviewees (pseudonym may be used)? The of the interviewee was George. 2. Relation to you (Family, Friend, Stranger, Etc.)? The interviewee is a friend that i known through my sibling. 3. Their vocation (employment of type of work they do)? The interviewee is an accountant in a nearby textile-manufacturing factory with an invaluable experience of at least four years. 4. Approximate age (ADULT 18 OR OVER)? The interviewee is 25 years old. 5. Religious tradition they were raised in or lack thereof? He is a protestant Christian and very God-fearing. 6. How much was early life focused on religion? With his father being a Bishop in the protestant church, George was born and raised in a Christian way from his sunrise years to date. He has known the foundation of Christianity as the pillar to a righteous life that pleases God. His life thus from elementary school was embedded on the Christian values, virtues and traits and molded him into a responsible God-fearing youngster. 7. Religious education? The religious education George has is from the daily teachings from his father and mother that he received when he was young. He is also an ardent and avid reader of the Holy Bible, a factor that makes him very resourceful in terms of religious issues and arguments. He is a youth ambassador in the local church, a mission that has nurtured him into a spiritual leader who inspires other youngsters into the ways of God. 8. Family activities that were explicitly religion (going to church, religious holidays, festivities etc.)? In matters of religion activities, Georges father always arranged special events at the church apart from the normal Christian holidays such as the Easter holiday and Christmas. The events involved different churches camping at the church and exchange of ideas in terms of building spiritualism, living in the ways of the Almighty as well as attempting examinations on the most important tenets of Christian life. The underlying mission for these events was to inculcate young and adult Christians with the virtues of the Lord that would bring to track the Christians who were shaken in spirit. The events were also important in venerating the name of the Lord and thanking Him for the gift of life. 9. Did they enjoy these activities? The events were enjoyable since there were musical instruments to play; feasting of all kind and the general euphoria of socializing was just intriguing. George was the lead youth in the youth group present at the event. The youngsters enjoyed in playing the different musical instruments while the elderly people read the Bible interpreted it and passed the interpretation to the youngsters. The examinations were taken by the youngsters present at the event after being taught and receiving the interpretation of the Bible verses from the elderly. The general mood was joyous, and so everyone enjoyed the activities according to Georges confessions. 10. What is their current religious view (observant, non-observant, participation in a particular religious or spiritual tradition)? Georges current religious view is simply Christian. He is a staunch practicing Christian, who follows the Christian principles in all spheres of life. He is proud of being Christian and reveres the Almighty God according to the ways of Christianity. He is a believer in Christianity. 11. If (10) changed from upbringing, what brought about the change? George did not change in his religious affiliation since he was brought up in a Christian way of life. The only fathomable change that George talks about is his growth in spiritualism since he has learned the diversities, principles and values that most times test the patience and faith of Christians. George noted that he is now strong in faith and can resist the normal temptations that many Christians undergo. 12. Have they tried other religion? No, George has never tried being affiliated to other religions. 13. Do they have a specific role in a religious tradition (deacon, pastor, bishop, usher)? George is the youth ambassador in the local church that his father ministers. His father is the Bishop and out of merit and his strong faith, George was chosen as the youth ambassador. 14. Activates engaged in specifically because required by their religion? George emphasizes that his religious affiliation to Christianity is the pathway that directs his entire life. All the activism, participation in communal works and religious practices are all directed by the word of God as per the Holy Bible. 15. Activates specifically avoid because prohibited by their religion? George admits that some behaviors that he does not indulge in are prohibited by the principles in the Christian religion. Thus, practicing some behaviors such as imbibing alcohol or cigarette smoking are highly prohibited and christened as ‘ungodly" according to the tenets of the Christianity religion. 16. What religious activities do they participate in (at least one activity)? The religious activities that George associates himself with include monthly youth congregations in church. These congregations are aimed at teaching valuable Christian lesson among youths vulnerable people to succumbing to peer pressure and the evil niceties of life that are against Christian values. 17. How often? where? With other people? what time of day or night? Are material items used? do the clergy or religious personnel perform the ritual? Is the ritual enjoyable? why, or Why not? The congregations that are held in the church monthly with George as the youth ambassador takes place at night. There are usually no clergymen involved since they are exclusively meant for youths, and there are no special rituals that are performed other than reading bible verses, praying and taking supper together. 18. What are their ideas about the formation of the universe? Their idea about the formation of the universe is biblical. Their idea maintains that God created the universe and everything in it in six days. 19. Was it created by a deity or a universal force? According to Georges belief, God created the universe and no one else. 20. Is there life after death? George believes that there is an eternal life after death. The rationale he gave is that the life after death is when a person dies he, or she goes to hell or heaven. 21. What is the future of mankind (long, short, etc.)? The future of humankind according to George depends on ones deeds and Gods plan on an individual. Thus, God knows the future of humankind in terms of a lifespan. On the same note, the end of the world according George is near, and people must repent. However, he believes that no one knows the exact date and hour of the Dooms day.
