Extract of sample "The job industry"

The job industry I have various intellectual interests. My thirst for learning never is sated. However, I live in a world where money must be earned. In order to further a solid career and quench my thirst for learning, I have chosen to attend Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations. The job industry today is complicated, with new industries popping up and old ones dying. Technologies are advancing faster than anticipated twenty, ten, or even five years ago. From cell phone to iPods, the creating and marketing of these new inventive technologies have created new jobs.

The Internet has created a whole new medium of marketing. Without a proper education, an individual can not hope to understand the technologies, much less hope to market or break into the industry. While I have always been computer savvy, it takes an effort to keep up with computer technology. What was brand new today will be obsolete tomorrow. In order to be able to jump into the job market as a valuable asset, I must keep up the education necessary for the new job market. The ILR curriculum will help me understand business trends, social needs, and marketing.

The business courses will help me comprehend what businesses need. The sociology courses will make me understand what the consumer wants. Marketing will help me market my product to consumers. Without these helpful courses, I would not be prepared to enter the business world. I see myself as a business executive. In order to fulfill this long term goal, I must not only be aware of current technology, but current trends. The economy is of great concern to me. Many business executives failed today’s society with their bad decisions.

I do not want to be a future business executive that fails society with bad decisions. In order to become the best I can be, I must be taught how to be a great, not good, but great business executive. I believe that the decision to attend Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations is a step in the right direction. This is the best choice I could make, because Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations is the best place to learn how to be a great business executive.

Another interest of mine is being a part of something productive. Loans, the stock market, and other business are not as important to me as business that creates an actual product. This product could range from a technology or something practical like energy. Being a useful part of society and creating a product that is needed encompasses what I want to achieve. Without attending the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, I would not be able to achieve this dream. If I continue the path I am on without attending the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, I will not be able to become a business executive.

I will be stuck in a dead end job that pays minimum wage with no benefits. I cannot justify that existence with my intelligence or drive. If I continue on the path I am on without an education, I will not only be cheating myself, but society as well. I have potential. The opportunity to achieve that potential will only avail itself unto me through furthering my education. I hope to be accepted by Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations in order to fulfill my goals of becoming a business executive.

Without a good education, I will be like every other applicant in the workforce. However, with a degree from your esteemed institution, I feel that my ability to find not just a job, but a career, will be realized.
