Animal life and human life are different from humans because of such factors as genetics and environmental adaptation. Some activities are naturally part of human behavior to an extent that one rarely thinks twice when doing them, neither is it seen as human chauvinism at that moment. For instance, I use animal life forms such as eggs and meat in my diet, I derive wool from sheep for clothing, and have dogs that guard and offer me security. This shows the subconscious behavior of humans towards animal life, which is part of daily existence. Even the most environmentally conscious person and animal rights activist falls prey to some of some subconscious acts that define human living.
Man is responsible for nature and he preservation of a healthy, sustainable environment. Unfortunately, most of man’s actions on the environment betray his dominance and highlight them in bad light. Environmentalists believe that all species are equal and deserve similar rights to humans. An anthropocentric perception of human interest argues in favor of environmental conservation instead of human populations. I believe that this is not logical from several viewpoints. In as much as animal and plant life are part of the ecosystem, humans dominate as the most progressive species and deserve to survive because they are the fittest. Even so, they should not destroy the environment in their selfish ambitions, but use it sustainably to reduce extinction and promote a healthy environment, which relies on trees for a myriad of survival aspects.
My argument has both a scientific and emotional bias. Scientifically, it is proven that humans are the most advanced and intelligent species in the planet. They have a sense of reason, which most other animal species do not have, or they do have, but in a lesser level than that of humans.
