The act of traveling from one place to another mainly for recreation and also for business purposes is known as tourism and it also includes in it the provisions of the services that are provided for the traveling act. Tourism is a kind of service industry that encompasses various intangible and tangible elements. The tangible components may include in it, the transport systems like the rail, road, air, water, and even the space, for now, and also the hospitality services like food, accommodation, beverages, souvenirs, tours, and even the related services like that of banking, safety, security, and insurance. The intangible components may comprise of relaxation, escape, adventure, culture, and new and varied experiences.

Various countries solely depend on the tourism industry. They are dependent upon the expenditures that the foreigners do as a source of taxes and also on the income of the enterprises which sell their services to the foreigners. Thus, it can be specified that for the development of tourism, strategizing is important which is the work of, either the Non-Governmental Organisations or the Governmental Agencies, to promote an intended region for increasing its commerce, using the export of goods and services to the foreigners.

The tourism industry in today’s view (Neblett Jackie, Green B. Milford) is dominated by multinational corporations which, with the help of their superior entrepreneurial skills, have set up an advanced network and technological facilities. This dominance of entrepreneurship has proved to be very helpful in the development of the tourism industry. In other words, this development affects the tourism industry as a possible economic development strategy. The tourism industry has proved itself to be an important economic sector in various developing countries. It provides the benefits such as employment, earnings of foreign exchange, the linkages of backward domestic, and the potential development of distinguished tourist regions.

The involvement of the local tourism industry in, either the informal or the formal sectors is very much relative to development. This development may be the quality or balanced growth for the people in the local area. This further results in greater wealth economically, along with increased self-reliance, a feeling of comfort, and also increased self-confidence.
