In the light of the above mentioned definitions, the frequent and untimely use of alcohol and drugs is termed as abusive, meaning to say that these are termed as malpractices or corrupt practices. These habits have innumerable cons associated with them. They range from the unhealthy effects to the addict himself and then go on beyond how the society gets affected. CONSEQUENCES OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE The adverse effects of alcohol and drug abuse on society are many. It is almost impossible to discuss those effects in a comprehensive manner. However some of them are categorized and discussed in the text below: Effects on Family: Exposure to drug and alcohol abuse prevents a person to be beneficial to the society. The central effects of this ailment are observed in personal life. Such a person can not be a good life partner, parent or a mentor.
