This social inquest is merely based on the fact that racism still exists all around the country, albeit much more quietly than in recent history. We find them funny because we know that ultimately, racism is wrong, but to portray it in hilarity is more socially acceptable among the masses. This alleviates the threat of being labeled racist or bigot, using widespread media or costuming as a cover. Comedy provides a shield for every race and culture to be presented in whatever manner we want while preventing racial inference. The media is in dire need of a thorough overhaul of their dialogue. The media needs to be what it was intended to be, which is the gatherer and portrayer of information that the masses need or want to hear. If the media were to allow non-biased and non-partisan dialogues, even those who claim not to be, it would change the roles of many people around the globe.
