With such an un-ending room for debate and discussion, I would love to comment and try to remove some of the misconceptions (or perhaps add some) to the topic.
Nature has created countless creatures, including and not restricted to plants, animals, birds, ghosts (perhaps) and Human Beings, off course. Out of which Human is the most blessed creature, if we talk in the context of how it has adopted to survive in the given environment and the way human exert power on the other mortals. Human have always thought itself to be hegemonic over the rest of the creatures and have exploited not only the rest of the creatures for its own benefit but also the environment which surrounds the natural residence of us, the Earth.
The nature of human is to exert pressure on its fellows and this is most prominent in males, for they have always tried to discriminate females in every walk of life, for centuries. The testosterone (the male sex hormone) has always blessed the masculine with the feeling of being powerful and stronger than its female counterpart (the estrogen). The world has rarely witnessed any female leader (with some exceptions, obviously), the newborn female children were buried alive in ancient ages, women used to be restricted to their homes and were not allowed to cross the gates, women had not equal opportunities and men had the eternal authority to divorce, these facts can be presented as a prove to men’s predominance over women.
As the world globalised, the concept of Gender Equality arose and a majority allied themselves with the concept. The Human Rights realized that both the genders should be treated equally and the discrimination should be converted to consensus, this concept was accepted with charm in the developed countries and steps were taken to avoid any acts that would prove as an obstacle to promote Gender
