The literature review is sufficient enough to bring out the required details on the topic. It begins with a definition of the term environmental justice. The background also collects data which is analyzed and the results given in a convincing manner. The author used published works by various authors. The review also included tabular information on the various constituencies existent in El Proyecto Bienestar board. The review could be improved by inclusion of more statistical evidences regarding the subject.
The study consisted of members of El Proyecto Bienestar. They were selected on a nominal group approach (Postma, 2008). Since participants were selected orally, chances are that a great percentage of the active members would have been underrepresented. This can be improved through the inclusion of a systematic selection of participants, probably through interviews, questionnaires amongst others.
Randomized control trial testing was used to test the interventions used to assess environmental hazards for children of low incomes, as well as test the likelihood of asthma triggers among the farmworkers. Discourse analysis is also used in the case of analysis of policies and literature in the interaction of participants. Through the triangulated approach, the perception of the participants was also assessed. Postma (2008) indicates that applied conversation analysis and discourse analysis were used to analyze data and information collected during the interactions.
From the research, it is possible to conclude that participation of members of the community is vital. CBPR practitioners must ensure that all persons are involved in contribution towards making tangible decisions regarding balancing power among academic and other stakeholders like the community so as to allow for equitable provision of health services. If community members are allowed to
