Multicultural Relations The historical relationship between African Americans and other groups Studies show that the relations between African Americans and the whites have always been sore. Scholarly research highlight that the whites, a dominant cultural group, always despised African American people in many places including schools and market places. Although, they all lived in one country, the white people could not even allow romantic relationships with African Americans (David, Barbara, and Marcela 5).

Three decades down the line, according to scholars, not much has changed. White people continue to discriminate African Americans living in the States against racial, educational, background, and ethnic grounds (Smith 17). Research findings established that, even though African Americans felt that they were entitled to same rights as human beings, whites disapproved that notion and treated them like less beings by settling them in segregated towns (Lyubansky and Eidelson 3). Historically, this has always been the case between these two groups.

Ways in which the history of African Americans influence the identity of group members todayAs of today, the past of African Americans has a strong influence on the individuality of some group members particularly the cultural ones (Lyubansky and Eidelson 20). Since the history of African Americans shows that, the whites were always mean and mistreated African Americans, observations indicate that this history plays a vital role in the way African Americans behave towards the whites (Smith 30).

Generally, fact-findings prove that whites cannot stay in some places even in this contemporary America. These places are obviously, where the African Americans had to stay without any contact with the whites (David, Barbara, and Marcela 7). Additionally, this kind of mentality draws a line along business dealings as in some parts of America; the whites find it hard to conduct business with the African Americans. Ideally, this influenced identity of the whites came about due to the history of African Americans.
