These critical facets of the human resource professionals can support or harm the helping process by a considerable level. In relation to determine the support of the human service professionals in the helping process of Todd and Reggie, it has been apparently observed that the personal values that comprise honesty as well as dedication ultimately support the helping process at large. Referring to the presented case scenario, it can be observed that Todd is facing problems primarily due to Social Security Disability. Correspondingly, he can be assisted by the health service professionals to come out of the stressful situation with the consumption of Trazodone and Lithium as was prescribed by his psychiatrist. On the other hand, Reggie is observed to be facing problems due to stress which is further accumulated with his habit of consuming alcohol regularly since a very young age. Thus, to help Reggie from the situation, health service professionals can organize frequent counseling sessions with him that can help them to motivate Reggie to quit his drinking habit and obtain a position vision towards life. Furthermore, Reggie and Todd, both can be observed as facing problems in cooperating with each other owing to which, organizing meetings with both the individuals and making them understand their weaknesses, strengths as well as expectations from one another helping them to build better understanding. Additionally, it is necessary for the human service professionals to access the influence of their lifestyles on others and to understand the importance of the objectives that are needed to be achieved. The professionals in human services should be aware of the fact that personal life does not impose extensive impact upon the professional life of the individuals by a certain degree. In this connection, by separating both professional and personal life, an individual can concentrate more vigorously in performing his or her respective operational functions by a greater extent (Brill, 2005). It has been apparently observed that the personal beliefs, prejudices as well as the stereotypes of the human service professionals can support the helping process by paying equal respect, establishing effective communication and most significantly assessing the different responsibilities of an individual or people. Conversely, the personal beliefs, prejudices as well as the stereotypes of the human service professionals can harm or cannot provide effective assistance in the helping process owing to the reason of emerging negative reactions. The negative reactions may encompass non-compliance with the basic requirements of an individual or people, financial downturns, ineffective communication and shortage of valuable resources (Lin & Ensel, 1989). Potential Ethical and Legal Issues There are certain ethical as well as legal issues that can be observed in the case relating to Todd and Reggie. According to the case, both Todd and Reggie were facing a difficult situation in order to lead their life comfortably as they were detached from the family members. In relation to the case, it has been viewed that both Todd and Reggie faced a critical ethical issue of management of stress that generated tough situations for them in searching for jobs to earn their livelihood. In this regard, Todd was mainly suffering from Social Security Disability and because of his health disorder; he lost many jobs that ultimately created greater stress to him. Moreover, apart from the aforementioned disorder, Todd was also observed to face mental health related problems due to his consumption of drugs for many years. On the other hand, the other ethical issue that was recognized in Reggie was also regarding management of stress. In this connection, Reggie was extremely stressed due to the reason of his dissatisfaction in his feelings after being released from the prison. Reggie believed that he has no other choice and had to depend upon his partner i.e. Todd in order to lead a healthy life that eventually contributed in causing stress in Reggie. There are various legal issues that can be identified in the helping process linked with the roles that play by health service professionals. The issues can be related to social security, public housing and unemployment compensation among others. In this context, the issue relating to unemployment compensation can be identified as an important aspect (Reich, 1965). According to the case, both Todd and Reggie were imprisoned for around 3 to 4 months due to their involvement in conducting criminal activities. One of the major legal issues that have been observed in this case can be related with Reggie. This can be explained by considering the fact that the prime intention of Reggie was to find a particular job and live independently. But the issue or the problem was the involvement of Reggie in conducting unlawful activities that ultimately led towards the occurrence of generating greater mental stress. On the basis of the identified ethical as well as illegal case relating to the case, certain obligations can be taken into concern as a human service professional. One of the obligations that can be observed in the case of study was the desire of Reggie to find a suitable job for him in order to live an independent life in future. It can be stated in this circumstance that the factors like addiction of drugs, imprisonment and mental health disarray among others lead the individuals to be disintegrated from their personal as well as professional life by a greater extent. The other obligation that can be recognized surrounding the case of Todd and Reggie was regarding the deteriorated interrelation between them. According to Todd relating to the case, the issue relating to drug addiction was the decisive problem that declined the association between them. Recommendations The adverse effects of personal, ethical as well as legal issues impose detrimental impact upon the professional life of individuals or people. In accordance with the case, it was observed that both the individuals i.e. Todd and Reggie were imprisoned and lost support from their families due to their engagement in drug addiction and consumption of alcohol. Consequently, both the individuals have been deprived from employment and were seeking for jobs in order to be self-dependent. In this situation, the role of the human service professionals would be to provide proper guidance to both Todd and Reggie in order to come out from their respective stressful condition and make them to lead a proper life that would eventually assist them to develop themselves as better individuals.
