Extract of sample "The Evolutionary Phases of the Development of Women"

Claudia Goldin wrote an article discussing the evolutionary phases of the development of women. In this article, she discusses this aspect through the discussion of three evolutionary phases; the independent female worker, easing the constraints of married women in the labor force, and the roots of the evolution.

It brought confidence and control to the lives of many women thus allowing for their participation in decision-making and development (Goldin 19). This the author further links to the shift from static decision-making to dynamic decision-making.

Suzanne Bianchi and Melissa Milkie wrote an article that discusses the expansion of the work-family arena. It discusses the various influential aspects of both the two fields that affect its development and trends such as aspects of gender, time, wages, paid work, stress, and policies amongst other aspects (Bianchi and Milkie 705). It further concludes by detailing the future direction to take in researching the work-family arena such as the need for divisive techniques to separate work and family life.

The article is very informative concerning the way the author discusses the interrelation between work and family life. This is especially on the aspect where both fields hold great potential in affecting the other either positively or adversely depending on the control measures put in place.
