As mentioned above the program aims to reduce teenage sexual activity and hence the number of early teenage pregnancies. It also aims to help teenagers familiarize themselves with healthy activities such as sports and improve their mindset making them more goal-oriented. The program will assist children regardless of their race or any other societal or cultural status. Numerous studies have shown that children exposed to negative behavior are at a higher risk of unwanted pregnancy; however, children in other societal spheres have also been documented among cases of early pregnancy.
This program is targeted for individuals who are between the ages of 13 and 15 years and it is likely to be appealing to this age group for numerous reasons. These include the fact that children at this age are very curious and in need of guidance and education about sexual matters, however, they lack a source for this education. In addition, if children are educated on such delicate issues from the incorrect sources it will likely have a tremendous impact on the way they view sexual activity and may require more intense rehabilitation for treatment,
In addition, most of the children who engage in these activities often have low self esteem and suffer from some form of neglect. Therefore, this program will provide a friendly environment for such individuals and will enable them to share their problems. Improving their self esteem will help them excel in many aspects of their lives and seeing the progress they make can serve as a motivational factor itself. The program also aims to address the issue involving lack of activity by children. There are many children who do not have enough recreational activity and spend their time indoors or on the streets and this is bad for their health, mindset and increases the amount of time they are likely to be exposed to negative things.
