This issue has often been taken with seriousness it deserves only when the statistics are seen to be rising. This habit needs to stop and there is a need to take care of the problem of crime even when the crime rates are low. In the year 2006, there were around 105 murders in a population of around 280,000 people! This shows the extent of the crime problem. The level of violent crime in Newark does not change a lot; this therefore, means that the law enforcement are not doing the best jobs as they are required to.
