The BRO Affiliation The Bro is a video that answers some questions that are related to gender. This documentary cross-examines the masculine-labelled identities and their effects to the societal gender issues. Thomas Keith examines analytically the ways in which popular culture has continued to strengthen and reward sexism, principally among the boys and young men. According to this video, sexism is still depicted in contemporary media and culture as equable, appropriate, and ordinary for young men.

The men who do not take seriously the culture’s normative authority to treat the women as sexual objects are disregarded and ridiculed in many ways as an effort to limit the ways in which men interact and view the women. The film has a clear demonstration of the devaluing of the women by media and men. The culture also strengthens a hostile environment towards the women. Additionally, a variety of ways in which men are kept monitored are exposed. The Bro Code mainly depicts the prevailing role of multi-media in determining some contemporary ideas that are related to masculinity.

Fundamentally, the queues are all over overwhelming the whole society with some images of a difficult gender dynamic. The music, comedy, sports, television, and movies all have their own share of contributions to the perpetuation of the gendered ideals. In addition to that, The Bro Code explicitly addresses the occurrence of masculinity issues in college campuses. There is a haunting statistic that says that more than 56 percent of the college men that have been surveyed would say a yes to women rape if there was no punishment for this bad practice.

The video also shows a clip of some young drunk men chanting that ‘no means yes and yes means anal’. Within a campus setting, some facts such as this are very difficult to comprehend. A projecting aspect of the Bro Code is that notion of doing and taking whatever you want by all means possible. Rape satisfies here fully. The concept of supremacyand entitlement relates to all men and requests them to identify these takes: WrestleMania, the charming Edward, and the awkward Mclovin who can sacrifice anything for sex.

Men who do not fit into any of those categories, are marginalized and mocked by others for being feminine. In conclusion, the video has some features of sexualized images that remain offensive. There is also the use of strong languages. The film also displays some scenes of dramatized rape that makes the viewer’s awareness a necessity. It is very essential for the educators to preview the film before it is screened to the students. Adequate time for discussing the impact of the images and arguments should be recognized at each screening.
