Being a military veteran who worked as a corrections officer in the military prison, I had a lot of responsibilities that made me to go an extra mile in order to accomplish my duties. For instance, in the military prisons, just like any other prison, correctional officers have a responsibility of ensuring inmate accountability and this is achieved by performing several duties such as documentation, taking roll calls and combating any negative inmate motives. Being the supervisor of the corrections officers in the facility, I spend more time to organize other officers and supplying the relevant resources to ensure that the work is well executed hence having limited time for my family.
The conflict with my wife took forms that were not clear to me in various ways. For instance, the expressions by my wife about the conflict were incomprehensible. Most of the times that I came home late in the evening were characterized by coldness in the sense that both of us had little to talk about. In addition, she used to serve my dinner without any difficulties but was keen to ask me why I came late from work. Considering the social and moral settings of my society, women play an important role in the life of their husbands. Therefore, I was worried about the tension that existed between my wife and I and sought to talk to her about the problem.
After discussion of the problem with my wife, several things emerged that according to me were the main sources of the conflict. Firstly, my wife felt that I spend more time at work and that I was inconsiderate to the family matters when making decisions. According to her, I should not have given my job top priority than having enough time to spend with her and the children. On the other hand, I felt that my wife did not understand the working conditions of my job. In addition, since I was the only bread winner in the family, it was important for me to perform my job
