Japan has a first world economy courtesy of its well-developed manufacturing industry that has grown to be very successful in the recent past years.
Japan has a constitutional monarchial form of parliamentary government. It is led by a prime minister and the current one is Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The government of Japan like most other governments is made up of three branches that is the legislature which is made up of the law makers, the executive and the judiciary. It is governed by a constitution which describes the role of each arm of the government and the roles of the government to the people and the vice versa.
According to BBC country profiles (2014), Japan has the world’s third largest economy. Much of this development was achieved in the years between 1950 and 2000. Majority of the population in Japan live in the industrialized cities while many more are concentrated in the coastal regions. Japan does not face an unemployment crisis like many other developed countries. On the contrary, it is faced by the challenge of providing social security funds to the ageing society. Due to its development and having strong medical policies, age expectancy has been boosted and that has catapulted to the problem of catering for the ageing who are not providing much effort in adding value to the current economic state. With a population of 127 million people, Japan offers a good local market as well as labor to boost its local industries. This has been one of the major factors behind its growth and development in the second half of the century.
Japan has grown from being a male dominated society to a society that embraces the role of women and empowering them to become better in the society. The number of women holding major positions in various institutions has increased and this is a good reason that their efforts are yielding (Index Mundi).
