What could be the main causes of poverty? Causes of poverty go from social, political to economic issues. Causes of poverty can also be leveled under national, international or household issues. For example, lack of education, this determines the household that is poor. Poor economic performance determines the level of poverty in the country. Low rate of economic growth is common in developing countries in Africa. How poverty affect health standards of people living poor urban communities? Poor people have more health issues than wealthy people.

The poor have the worst health issues and die at young age. Additionally, studies reveal that poor people have higher maternal mortality rate and high levels of disease. The fact is that poor people have limited access to social protection and healthcare. Poor health also contributes to other issues, for example, if one family member becomes sick; other members of household are burdened by healthcare costs (Adler & Newman, 2002). Effects of child abuse vary from child to child. Other cases of child abuse are long-lasting and severe.

They can be categorized into psychological, physical, societal and behavioral consequences. The consequences mentioned are quite difficult to tell sometimes because one can lead to another. For example, physical consequences can lead to psychological consequences. In case child abuse led to brain damage, later in life a child might have psychological consequences such as emotional difficulties (Reece et al. 2014). The instantaneous responsive effects of abuse and child neglect can result to long-term psychological consequences.

Here are some common psychological consequences resulting from abuse and neglect; relationship problems, depression, and low self-esteem. For example, studies reveal that child abuse has serious impacts on child emotional regulation; such case can extend to adolescence or adulthood (Reece et al.
