From the case study, the young boy seems to be growing up in a home where the mother lives a carefree life and does not have the time to care of this three year old, meaning that someone else should step as to make sure that the well being of Liam is taken care of. Essentially, parents contribute immensely towards their children going into foster care because of the decisions they make concerning their lives and also the lives that they choose to live. Most of these parents could be engaged in lives of crime, prostitution, and alcoholism, making the environments that they choose to bring up their children in not to be desirable. Professional carers on the other hand, take their work seriously as they take in children from different backgrounds into their homes and families, provide love and support to them without expecting any major payment in return (The Fostering Network 2008, p. 3). In most cases, the parents of the children that many professional carers take care of are alive and well, but are unfit to bring up the children because they might to either care for them or not.
When a professional carer comes in, chances are the family unit of the child is unable to take of the child, which might extend to the distant relatives or those that are close to the child. Ideally, childhood is a very critical phase that a child must go
