Reading Reflection From the academic perspective, the article that is d Strategic alliance team diversity, coordination, and effectiveness which was written by David B. Zoogah, Davina Vora, Orlando Richard & Mike W. Peng contains rather insightful aspect. One of the most vivid ones is the approach that the authors utilized and the findings that they made. For example, it is quite an unusual claim that nationality does not have a tremendous impact on the effectiveness of strategic alliance teams.

There is an idea, according to which, ethnic background may have a negative impact on the cooperation of people; however, the article shows that the modern world was able to overcome racial biases.Another interesting aspect which was highlighted in the article that had a positive impact on me is that gender is not able to have a negative influence on the team performance. From the academic perspective, it would not be an exaggeration to suggest that different inequalities that exist in the society.

There is no doubt that such phenomena as glass ceiling or gender wage gap exist; however, they can hardly be explained by the fact that the society was not able to achieve the level of conscience that does not allow people who belong to different gender interact effectively. In other words, in the corporate environment men and women may not be equal in some aspects, but this does not prevent them from a fruitful interaction.Finally, from the academic perspective, one might suggest that there are several valuable findings about the diversity of the functional background.

Indeed, this aspect of diversity is able to have an extremely a positive impact on cooperation between people. Every team has to have people that are able to contribute to the performance of it in many different ways so that there would not be any issue that could not be resolved. What is more important is that the authors did their best to bridge the gap between micro and macro level from the academic perspective that can be witnessed in every interaction between people. Thus, it was suggested that diversity should be recognizes as a micro level and the organization of a strategic alliance team as a macro level.

In other words, when people will explore similar issue, they will always be able to refer to the findings of this article and back up their position. There is no doubt that in the current conditions, this will be a rather popular subject that many companies now employ people who come from different cultural background, belong to different genders and have various functional background.Lastly, it may be rather useful to note that from the academic perspective the sample of the participants that was made by authors is outstanding.

The latter were able to locate a sufficient number of people who were willing to contribute their experience so that the findings of the research would be valid and convincing. Keeping all this in mind, one might conclude that the article in question should be seen as a valuable contribution since it highlights some of the most important aspects of cooperation in strategic alliance teams and has certain helpful practical implications.
