Their passion is immense accompanied by commitment towards success. Indifferent to the imperative aspects they portray in the society, they are less regarded without something in return for their deeds (Feeney, 2013).
Sexual abuse: the school going age of girls are the most affected with statistics posted at a figure of 50% when they are below 15 years. The levels of reports that emanate from learning institutions concerning criminal activities towards girls are at an alarming rate. The acts are of mass sexual harassment in learning institutions (RAPOLD, 2013).
Child labor: Girls do enormous work at home and wherever they work as viewed in the documentary. They carry water, collect fuel wood, cook, clean, wash, take care of siblings and act like little mothers. They also work relentlessly, in all seasons, as agricultural laborers. They cannot even complain. They do all this during the day instead of going to school (Feeney, 2013).
Arranged marriage: poverty levels and the sheer economic needs is the highest contributors to girl-arranged marriages. The perception is that girls are an extra burden to feed. When parents are obligated to take them to school, they bear it as a burden. When treated with that regard, they leave households and may be forced to get married. It is also a view of the society portrayed in the movie that parents may reap more when they allow younger girls to get married. It is a weird view that regards the younger girls to pay more in terms of dowry (RAPOLD, 2013). Parents also believe that marrying their daughters young protects them from rape, premarital sexual activity, unintended pregnancies, and sexually transmitted infections, especially human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and AIDS, but all this deprive the girls of being educated.
