of Learning: My Priorities For Global And Local Changes In Lifetime In Order That My Children Inherit A More Sustainable World Introduction A sustainable world is one that meets the present needs without in any way compromising the future generation ability to meet their needs. In this case, more concern will be on children’s sustainable world. For a world to be sustainable, there are two concepts that have to be taken into consideration; the needs concepts which concerns the essential needs of what can be termed as the poor world which has to be given overriding priorities. The other concept is the limitations idea in relation to the social and technology state organization on the ability of the environment to meet both the current and future needs for children. The two concepts put me in a position to look at both the social and economic changes both locally and globally in order to define what a sustainable world to my children. The changes may appear to be either developing or developed or in some extent centrally or market oriented. The following are the priorities I consider to a make a more sustainable world so they may vary from one person to the other, society to society and nation to nation but will have some general features and basic concepts of attaining a sustainable world. Priorities for A more Sustainable World For my children, satisfying their human needs as well as aspirations is among my main priorities in achieving a sustainable world for them. In most cases, the essential needs of most children is shelter, food, and clothing which are rarely met and beyond the children basic needs, they have lawful legitimate aspirations to have an improved life quality. A world where inequality and poverty have become an epidemic will often result in ecological crisis. In order to achieve a sustainable world for the children, my priority will be to meet their basic needs and extend all the available opportunities in an effort to meet their aspirations to have a better life. The children living standards are far beyond just the basic minimum and in order to have a sustainable world for them, their consumption standards have to be in such away that they are sustainable and will last for the longest time possible. Some of the perceived needs for the children are determined culturally and socially thus in order to have a sustainable world for them, I have to promote the values that will encourage consumption standards which fall within the ecological possible bound and which all of them seam reasonably aspiring (Atkinson 345). In order have a world that experiences a full growth potential that will sustain both the present children and those who will come in future, economic growth has to be developed in areas where children needs have not been met. Economic growth involves a growth that will reflect broad sustainability principles but doesn’t exploit the other children. This implies that growth alone is not enough as high productivity levels and poverty that is wide spread can as well coexist but this will in the long run endanger the children’s environment. Such a situation challenges me to meet the children needs through increasing production potential as well as ensuring there exists equitable opportunities for all the children. An increase in the number of children leads to an increased pressure on the limited resources and the situation looks to get worse in future. Such numbers will also slow down the living standards in regions where deprivation has widely spread. The main concern in this situation is not just the size of children population but resources distribution. In order to have a sustainable world in such a situation, demographic developments have to be harmonized with the fluctuating production potential within the ecosystem (McGranaham 82). Most societies compromise their potential to meet the important needs of its children especially in future through overexploiting resources. Technological developments have been observed to solve only the immediate issues but result in greater ones in future. Large sections of children populations have end up being marginalized following developments that are ill-considered such as watercourses diversions, settled agriculture noxious gases and heat emissions into the atmosphere, mineral extraction and genetic manipulation. Such developments that impact and threaten the systems that support life both locally and globally should be discouraged at all costs. To have a sustainable world, natural systems must not be endangered. Growth cannot be limited in relation to resources or population, however, knowledge accumulation and technology development can enhance the resource base carrying capacity. Considering the ultimate limits, for the children to have a sustainable world, equitable access must be ensured in relation to the reorient technology impacts and constrained resource so as to relieve the presume (Katz 62) In most of the children worlds, there exists communications gap that keep them away form other population, development and population assistance groups distanced for long thus preventing them from acknowledging their common interests and appreciating their combined power. It is important that such gaps be closed to enable the children learn what unites them. In such worlds, environmental degradation, poverty and the growth in population are related inextricably and non among such fundamental issues can be dealt with in isolation. Economic development and growth entail the changes in ecosystem physically. This means that no children ecosystem can be preserved as being intact. Renewable resources such as the stock for fish or forests should not be depleted provided the rate of children falls within the regeneration limits and natural growth. Most of renewable resources happen to be part of an ecosystem that is interlinked and complex hence a maximum yield of sustainability has to be defined after considering the impacts of exploitation on the system. Non-renewable resources like minerals and fossil fuels are constantly reducing in their availability for the generations to come (UN Documents 430). However, such resources still have to be utilized. In order for such resources to be sustainable, the depletion rate should be in such away that it takes into account the resource criticality, the possible substitute’s likelihood availability and the role of technologies to reduce depletion. Resources like land should not be left to degrade beyond the level that they can be recovered. For fuels and minerals, the depletion rate as well as the economical use and recycling have to be calibrated in an effort to make sure that such resources do not run out before substitutes that are accepted are made available. A sustainable world for the children is one that ensures the depletion rates of resources that are nonrenewable are foreclose now that there are very few options for the future generation (UN Documents 447). Development in most cases simplifies the structure of ecosystem and reduces their species diversity. When species become extinct, they cannot be renewed. Such a loss in the animal and plant species can end up limiting the future generation’s options in great ways hence animal species and plants species have to be conserved so as to attain a sustainable world. Some of the goods that are normally looked at as free like water and air also happen to be resources. Raw materials and production energy processes are normally partly converted to products that are useful. The rest remain waste materials. A sustainable world should have the adverse effects on natural elements like water and air are minimized so as sustain the overall integrity of the children ecosystem. Conclusion A world that is sustainable for the children inherent is one that gives full consideration to the changing processes of resources exploitation, technological development, investments directions and changes in the institutions and goes a head to ensure that such changes take place in harmony in an effort to have that both the present and the future related processes enhanced potentially to met the children needs and aspirations.
