ANOVA ANOVA measures whether there is a difference between the means of two or more independent groups. The study involved two groups, witnesses and non-witnesses. The hypotheses that apply in the analysis of variance are:H0 : There is no significant difference between the means of the witnesses and non-witnesses with respect to guilt ratingH1 : There is a significant difference between the means of the witnesses and non-witnesses with respect to guilt ratingH0 : There is no significant difference between the means of the witnesses and non-witnesses with respect to punishment valueH1 : There is a significant difference between the means of the witnesses and non-witnesses with respect to punishment valueThe mean value for the guilt rating for witnesses was 5.

1825 with a standard deviation of 1.54058 and a standard error for the mean of 0.19410. On the other hand, the mean guilt rating was 4.0317 with a standard deviation of 1.76862 and a standard error for the mean of 0.22282 for non-witnesses. The mean value for the punishment for witnesses was 3.2581with a standard deviation of 1.43647 and a standard error for the mean for of 0.18243. On the other hand, a mean of 2.1452 with a standard deviation of 1.34099 and standard error of the mean of 0.17031 were the statistics for the non-witnesses with respect to the prescribed punishment.

Figures one and two are error bar graphs for guilt rating and punishment rating respectively. Figure1: Error bar graph for guilt ratingFigure 2: Error bar graph for punishment ratingInspectionAn evaluation of the dependent variables reveals that they are continuous. The two categorical groups that make up the independent variables are guilt rating and punishment value. There is also no relationship between the observations of the two groups which means that they are independent of each other.

The data had no significant outliers that could reduce the validity of the results. Based on the Levenes test, it was proved that the variances were homogeneous. html xxxxxProject descriptionIn this assignment we will analyze the pooled data which we collected last week Please analyze the group data from Experiment II using SPSS. Include data inspection, description, and a one-way ANOVA with supporting graphs (error bar groups are best) showing confidence intervals. Save your data file. Save your output file. Send both to me as attachments. This data is from a study that was conducted about does eyewitness, no witness and a discredited witness due to near sightedness have an effect on the outcome of a verdict.
