Yeah, some papers are proving that fact. I’ve seen students writing about that recently, and also there is a big research performed by Paul Mason, called “Why It’s Still Kicking Off Everywhere: The New Global Revolution.” So, he states the fact, which children familiar with Internet and Technology have the enormous possibility to educate themselves, that is why they are more educated than other kids. They start talking earlier and share more experience with others, for they get more information every day. Kids are good in learning, despite the age, even when they are very young, like 2-3 years old. There is also another traditional thought, that internet is nothing but harmful for kids, and this idea persists in parent’s and society’s minds. Still, the research proves the opposite.
Pew Research Center states that nowadays there are more than 80% of young people on Social Media. Linda Jackson, a psychologist, published research, where she says, that home internet usage increases the standard test scores results. Other researchers say that home Internet usage has enabled kids to be more independent in gaining new knowledge and thus encouraged them to do so.
Let’s face it, the Internet is never ‘too busy’ to answer the question, unlike grown ups. It is never angry if you do so, and it never sleeps. So there is no delay between thinking on a bothering question and getting the variety of answers on it (in different forms by the way!). Also, it is always close to a kid. There is no need to go to a library or wait till Monday to ask it in class. The answer is there immediately when asked. Isn’t it the best thing in satisfying child's curiosity?
According to researches made, children, who familiarized themselves with Internet work smarter, spend less time on information search and make friends faster compared to those who were cut off the Internet usage or didn’t have a computer, phone or other electronic devices.
