CHANGES IN TECHNOLOGY Technology has invaded our homes and workplaces in an overwhelming number of ways in the past five years. While most of the advances made have been developed in the late 20th to early 21st centuries, many of these have just recently reached mass-use status or regular utilization in work places and personal business. Such are the likes of the WiFi technology, data storages and 4G celullar communications. As predicted by management expert, Dr. Peter Drucker, the progress in technology made workers in factories, employees in offices and even mobile CEOs become more productive and efficient in their work (Drucker, 1973, p.803).One of the world's strongest industries is the manufacturing sector.

With the emergence of modern technologies, particularly the advanced manufacturing technologies (AMT) in this sector, manpower has shifted focus on operating machines that can produce hundred times faster than labor work. Not only has this made companies increase profit margins and meet higher demand but it has reduced factory workers' healthy and safety risks and actual workload. In this globalized and competitive world, both managers and regular employees need to juggle multiple tasks that require them to be mobile but reachable.

In the past five years, communication devices have progressed immensely that it allowed people to access their e-mails, documents and presentations while away from their desk. Small, handheld devices such as the Blackberry and iPhone enable people to collaborate rapidly and send out heavy information quickly. The presence of Wifi zones in coffee shops, libraries even shopping malls allows for instant communication especially during emergency work. It is also through these that virtual teams composed of members from various locations are formed to create globally competitive ideas.

Clearly, information and technology make it possible for companies to manage their people's time to attain the best quality of products and highest level of service to their customers.
