Background Development of the UK hospitality industry can primarily be attributed to the growth and advancement of other economic sectors. For instance, the growth of manufacturing industries meant that individuals needed to leave cities for holidays. Advancement of the transportation sector, through improvement of railways, roads and air travel also means that there are easier, cheaper and faster ways for people to move from one point to another nationally or internationally.
