In this project report I will present the detailed project exaction plan. The main purpose of this project is to practice the different project management activities. These activities will include the work break down structure (WBS), organization break down structure (OBS) and critical path analysis (CPA). Introduction This project is about to plan and manage the overseas holiday Activities. I will streamline the main plan and project exaction steps for the better completion of this project. In this project I have got 14 main project activities those are needed to be executed in a proper order. So I will try to manage and plan these activities in an efficient way. Activities Stage 1-a In this part I will present the accurate and enough time for the each activity execution. I have got pre-assigned time for these activities but I case some important activity that require more time, I will assign more time. Below I have presented the overall activities and the execution time needed for there implementation. Activity Duration Comments 1. calculate costs 1 Day Pre-assigned 2. buy luggage 2 Day I have assigned I more day- Needs more time because we need more time for shopping 3. apply for leave from work 1 Day Pre-assigned 4. pack 2 Days Pre-assigned 5. obtain visas 5 Days Pre-assigned 6. book accommodation 1 Day Pre-assigned 7. visit travel agent to obtain brochures, fares, etc 1 Day Pre-assigned 8. buy tickets 1Day Pre-assigned 9. buy special clothes 3 Days 10. study brochures 5 Days Pre-assigned 11. book car hire 1 Day Pre-assigned 12. plan itinerary 10 Days Pre-assigned 13. obtain bank loan 3 Day I have assigned 2 more days because bank processing takes more time 14. obtain passport 15 Days 1- b Activities Sequence In this section I will discuss the proper order of the all activities. 1- Apply for leave from work 2- Visit travel agent to obtain brochures, fares, etc 3- Study brochures 4- Plan itinerary 5- Calculate costs 6- Obtain bank loan 7- Obtain passport 8- Obtain visas 9- Buy luggage 10- Buy tickets 11- Book accommodation 12- Buy special clothes 13- Book car hire 14- Pack I have planned the above given activities sequence. I have tried that all activities should be in proper sequence. 1-c Network diagram I have developed the network diagram of the overall project activities. This network diagram is given below: Figure 1 Network Diagram CPA Diagram Figure 2- CPA Diagram Stage 2- d Now I will discuss critical and non-critical activities, and their effect upon the shortest time needed to complete the project. Critical activities: Here I have placed the critical activities and also explained the reason regarding there nature of criticalness. Non-Critical activities: Here below I have listed the non critical activities Book accommodation- our destination place has to be booked before we go there Visit travel agent to obtain brochures, fares, etc Apply for leave from work- if we can able to obtain leave from the job then we are not able to go to journey Study brochures Obtain bank loan- if we are failed to get the loan from the then bank then our visit can be failed Plan itinerary Obtain passport- without on time passport delivery we can not have the visa Calculate costs Obtain visas- if we able to have the visas then the out journey can be in danger of failure Buy luggage Buy tickets Buy special clothes Book car hire Pack (E)- Now I will discuss the shortest time needed to complete this project. I have studied this project in a very comprehensive way and got that the obtain passport activity takes the 15 days and plan itinerary takes 10 days. If process fast then I think that we can get 5 days from obtain passport activity, and 8 days from the plan itinerary. Then buy special clothes takes 3 days, we can complete this activity in one days, in the similar way we have study brochures activity that is taking 5 days, we can cut down this activity to 2 days. In this way I have saved the 18 days. Now i we work more rapidly then we can complete this project in 33 days. So it is the shortest possible time to complete this project. (F) In this project the main considerations that we have to place on the things that can affect the planned time allowed for the project is the activity of the obtaining visa, and passport. There are lots of factors that can include in these two processes. If any one on of these two activities delays, then we can have the problem regarding the project completion on time. So we have to concentrate on these two activities for the better project exaction with in time limits. Stage 3 (g) Work Breakdown Structure Activity NO. Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 1. The WBS decomposes, or partitions, the task into minor works and more controllable parts of work known as work packages. Disadvantage If we have WBS with unrealistic plans that call for too much to be done in small time Stage 4 Part I The project planning and tracking tools like WBS, OBS and CPA provide numerous facilities in the process of the project planning. For instance WBS provides us a way to break-down the complex and large project into the small components through which overall project execution becomes easier (Kernzer, 2003). Next project management technique that is OBS offers us the detailed information relating to the job specification and task accountability of the project activities. This technique offers an easy way to visualize the whole project task responsibility structure. The next project management technique CPA is method to examine and track every project critical elements and by carrying out this technique we can easily visualize and track the whole project task and responsibilities. Conclusions In this report I have presented the main activities regarding the overseas holiday Activity Description project. I have applied the WBS technique for the better project planning task exaction. I have tried to streamline the all main components regarding this project implementation. References 1.
