My Life in United s Everyone has goals and dreams in life and when I was in themiddle school, my goal was to study in a country like the U.S.A or Canada. I talked to my parents and friends about this and they encouraged me, highlighting the advantages of studying in a country with high quality of education. During my last year of study in high school, my father called one of his friends who was studying at the US and enquired about the university in which he was studying. He recommended the institution, pointing out all the good things that were associated with it and my father, excited, decided to send me to study at VCU. My dad and his friend ensured that everything that was needed such as my I-20 and the US visa were ready so that I could study at VCU. In 2009, I came to the US. I began studies in English language Program at VCU and this was because I was not a native speaker of English. After that, I improved on my English as a second language day by day. When I was in ELP, I had difficulties in two classes, these were Listening and Reading, but despite this I performed well in the tests. While in ESL, I met new students from different countries and I had a great time with them. My proffesors were also understanding and helpful, making my learning much easier. At the Fall semester in 2011, I completed my English Language Program. Since then, I have registered 16 credits which are Public Health, LS 100, ESL Reading, Mass media and ESL Communication. These classes are kind of difficult and make me confused, considering the fact that this is my first time as an academic student in my whole life. I found this semester to be hard and confusing at the beginning. This is because some teachers speak very fast and I find it hard to take notes in class. However, I believe that as the days go by, it is going to get easier and normal for me. Besides, I have to concentrate on what I came to do in this institution, which is studying. In addition, UMU is a great university and the professors are going to teach me what I have to learn. I hope that my classmates and I will get good grades in all our classe. I believe in my fathers famous quote that says, ”would never reach your goal without difficulties.” It is quite hard to differentitate between men and women. However, some researchers have found out that men are more productive than women. Moreover, men and women share some common elements and differ with others. Men and women are different in emotions, productivity and biological evidence. Men and Women During threatening life and death situations, studies have proven that men can act and solve problems better than women. For example, in War, men are more independent than women (Sabbatini 1), this is because women tend to be more emotional than men, and will need a lot of support. However, this does not mean that women are disadvantaged, in fact, this is a very good feature when placed in the right context. There are situations where emotions are needed and women get helpful. For instance, when it comes to nurturing a child, researches have shown that children prefer having just a mother rather than just a father due to the emotional features that women have. This makes them more understanding and good in factors involving human relations (Sabbatini 1). On another note, men are considered to be more productive than women. Considering the fact that women have nine months of pregnancy, most companies are more willing to hire men because they can work as full time employees. As a result of this, the minority law kicks in to help women find jobs. While men concentrate fully on their work, women tend to get quite destructed. They think about many other things that are not related to work during working hours such as what they are going to prepare for dinner, how their chilren are fairing on, shopping and other issues that do not contribute in any way towards the success of the company. Despite the fact that this may be dueto the many responsibilities that are vested on women, it sometimes makes them less productive. Last but not least, biological studies have revealed that the size of a man’s brain is 15% bigger than a woman’s brain (Sabbatini 1). In addition to this, men are more muscular than women giving them the advantage of working in jobs that require physical abilities. On the other hand, women develop breasts and can nurse childeren, while men can not. Furthermore, other studies show that women can multi-task, while men work well on one task at a time. Men have a different genetic structure compared to women. For instance, Men have ”X” and ”Y” chromosomes while women have two ”X” chromosomes. Additionally, it has been stated that women manufacture blood better than men which means that men face more risks than women when it comes to surgery. In conclusion, men and women are not the same in various aspects. Some physical and emotional features give advantages to one gender over the other and vice versa. Both genders differ in some characteristics such as productivity, emotions and biological evidences.
