Even the evening dresses were short instead of long, in some cases worn with sparkly shorts underneath. Blumarine has always showed a bit of a romantic stance, however in the last few seasons the brand transformed its lines into accessible and sophisticated clothing for open women. Proof is this autumn collection – bright and striking – “oranges, pinks and yellows clash with and complement each other at the same time, creating an eye-catching collection, always retaining a wisp of romance (Ghosh 2009).” There are ensembles in beige patterns, interpretation of military outfits, and numerous combinations of seaside motifs. Bottega Veneta always minimized the chic, but Tomas Maier knows how to take advantage if this image. This Italian fashion house comes exclusively in cream, with white or straw intermingling here and there. “Small, bright accents in magenta, green, yellow and black give the pieces a modern edge to clothing inspired by Karate clothing (Ghosh 2009).” Maier has mastered the sport elegance, which he confirms with light-weight jackets, asymmetrical necklines, shorts with rolled hems or short tight sheath skirts with small slits, and finally t-shirt-cum-sack dresses.
