International Entrepreneurship in Fashion related Industry: starting, developing and managing a global fashion venture and Section # of course> Title: Social Fashion Search Engine Rationale: No matter how stable e-commerce has made the industries in these challenging times, it does not guarantee survival of all e-businesses. Online shopping has its merits and demerits. One industry which has faced a lot challenges to meet the expectations of their customers is Fashion Industry. Selling fashion online is an art.

A lot is invested in the brand to understand the need of the customer so later company does not face customer complaints and loss of goodwill but despite the huge investment, customers still face indecisiveness because he/she may not be sure whether the fabric, color, size or style is appropriate for them. Customers spend a lot of time to decide what garment they want to purchase online, to ease their decision almost all websites offer images of the clothes, same clothes in different colors and image enlargement.

But these tools are not enough so that customer can buy clothes with complete comfort. Companies that do display their designs online along with different sizes are successful but not meet fully meet the performance expectations. Research Aim: I shall research on a new area in fashion e-commerce which Bill Slawski at SEO proposed. It is a social search engine in which customers will create their profile inclusive of their height and weight measurements, skin color, eye color, hair style , whether you wear glasses or not, preferences (formal/casual/workout clothes) and other personal information regarding the appearance of the customer.

The search engine will create a 3-dimensional scan of customer’s body which can be uploaded on a clothing search engine. The clothes recommended for that specific customer’s profile can be used to make a 3D model based upon profile of that customer. A patent filing from Yahoo describes a Fashion Search Engine that can use a 3D model to present garments that can help can help customers find clothes that match their profile. The profile can be updated at any time by the customer for example when the customer loses weight.

There is more to it, not only experts will provide recommendations; other users might be given permission by the person making purchase choices to make recommendations for them. Research Methodology I shall research on the underlying principles behind this idea and the concepts. I will try to explore on how feasible the idea is to be implemented in real. Further, I shall look into the target audience and which kind of companies can actually adopt it. At the end, I will try to evaluate what major benefits can be achieved for a company after putting it into practice.
