Jackson Pollocks Painting, as Exemplified by Convergence Albright-Knox Art Gallery Affiliation Jackson Pollock’s style of painting is unique encouraging other artists to use their own creativity in improving painting. This conveys originality as he used dripping, pouring and splashing technique in his paintings bringing out a different technique in painting. This is important as it encourages upcoming artists in exploring ideas in coming up with new art (Grolier Incorporated, 1989). Convergence paint is important in the Albright-Knox Art Gallery as it is used in showcasing the one of the arts which can be termed as Abstract Expressionism which showcases modern Expressionism.

His art is considered as the modern art and shows how the modern artists contributed to a change in creating arts like paintings and sculptures bringing it to the international stage for Avant-garde art (Orton, 1996). Through Jackson Pollock’s paint on convergence it shows an innovative method of the development in the history of painting. During that time of painting there was cold war between the United States and Russia; convergence painting was a way of expressing freedom of expression.

Convergence art was a clear expression showing his feelings as it was an impression on social realism and also overt political gestures as it showed realism. 2. This art by Jackson Pollock shows simplicity in its creation as he mainly use the available art applicants like household’s paint, sand, syringes, knives. Through the convergence painting we can see that it is a way he used in expressing his feelings as he engages his body movement thereby bringing a new technology known as active painting in art.

It can also be seen that his painting shows originality as he uses his own techniques inputting different light colors which blend well bringing out a great painting (Albright-Knox Art Gallery, 1976). 3. Jackson Pollock developed a unique and by pouring and dripping paint on canvas he tried to create a new technique in painting which was later known as drip technique. He used household’s paints and did not rely on artists painting showing his creativity using different types of paint applicants.

Unlike the modern artists who used easel and brush, he used sticks, hardened brushes, knives, and trowels among others. His technique of painting can be seen as unique as he did not only used the hand and wrist in painting but inputted his whole body .He used controlled and uncontrolled movement of the body with the flow of paint dripping into the canvas in which it can be seen as he put emotion into his painting (Grolier Incorporated, 1989). 4. Convergence painting of Jackson Pollock was mainly influenced by the need for social realism and also against some political gestures.

He tried to convey the message of freedom during that era (Orton, 1996). His art was basically inspired by the arts of Spanish artists like Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró which he wanted to create a simple type of art expressing his feelings. Convergence painting uses colors, lines, lights and contrasting shapes which look messy but can be said to convey the message of the state of United States during that period when the art was made. Convergence was created through the use of different layers of art dumped together and spattered to its outcome (Albright-Knox Art Gallery, 1976). 5. Convergence art was accepted by the people during that time this can be seen from his influence in the contemporary United States and also Western Europe.

It also shows creativity among the artists during the era and also was used as a way of expression of one’s feelings (Albright-Knox Art Gallery, 1976). Through Convergence we are able to see its simplicity thereby making it be acceptable in that period. It looks messy implying the current war experienced in that Era. This method of expressing his feelings can also be seen to be adopted by other artists like Willem de Kooning whose art can be seen to use the same technique. References Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
