Pattern Design - Personal Statement Example

Fashion is a great artistic expression, of how the body should look. It also needs to represent the inner self of an individual. Pattern design is the mind game to adore physical assets. I arrived in California from Taiwan as a young boy of fifteen years and I graduated from San Dimas High School in 2009. As a youngster, the word ‘fashion’ fascinated me a lot and I used to read a number of fashion magazines. I was a regular visitor to the designer boutiques and would not miss a fashion show in California. I am passionate about clothes and fashion.   I joined the Likie Fashion College to learn the basics of fashion and got an opportunity to express myself creatively.  My sole ambition now is to become a professional pattern designer and set fashion trends in motion.

I wish to take a degree in the subject of pattern design, as I think creating patterns is the backbone of the industry that sets in motion the subsequent activities for the final product. By now I have a clear understanding of pattern designing and have developed the ability to identify and forecast the trends for the coming 18-24 months. I have good communication skills to explain the intricacies of my patterns to the prospective buying houses and I am sure to impress them to deal with me on an ongoing basis. I keep myself up-to-date about the latest fashion trends through an extensive study on the subject of fashion. I have the skills to critically assess the products of the competitors, their strengths and weaknesses.
