Describing ART Wikimedia Commons The of the piece of art above is “Sandy Skoglund.” Michael Amick ed and posted this piece of art in 10 July 2011. The source of this piece of art is Flickr: Denver Art Museum and has a dimension of 3,264 × 2,448 pixels where it occupies a space of 1.62 MB. Furthermore, this piece of art is an image. This image shows a picture by Sandy Skoglund, which depicts two animals of different sizes in one room. We can see the bigger animal in the foreground of the picture and the smaller animal in the background of the picture. The two animals are seemingly jumping in the room. The cemented room has white tiles on one wall and the smaller animal is seemingly coming from another room. The two animals are white in color. Michael Amick divided the photo into three parts, which include the foreground and the background. The picture depicts a cool environment since the two animals are all alone in the room. In the foreground of this picture, I can see the bigger animal jumping towards the red wall. I can also see its image beneath it. The animal is seemingly closing its eyes and has four legs. I can also see the three red walls and the white-tiled wall on the foreground. The white color of the tiles and the animal suggests peace and hence the cool environment. The red wall signifies danger but there is no conflict in the room and hence peace supersedes danger in this picture. The two colors add beauty to the picture and the animal is seemingly made of limestone. I can see the smaller animal in the background as well as its image. I can also establish that the four walls are seemingly converging at the background. The small animal is also white in color and only its front legs are visible as it is seemingly coming from another room. The white knob on the foreground of the white wall and the position of the shadows suggest that the white side depicts the roof of the room. Indeed, the animals are few meters from the roof and jumping from one room to another. The position of the shadows of the two animals suggests that the source of light in this picture is at few meters above the animals. Probably, the source of light is an electricity bulb on the roof of this room. The author uses a red color, which is bright, and a white color, which is calm. As such, the picture suggests a bright and calm life as depicted by the environment. The picture manifests lack of conflict and the presence as the animals jump freely from one room to another. The colors in the picture create a comfortable contrast, which is attractive to the eyes. Nevertheless, the entire picture is bright and generates a sober mood. The lighting and the contrast of colors in the picture create a good combination that depicts great artistic value. Indeed, I can establish that this is a perfect and entertaining piece of art. (“Emmanuel Gallery”) This picture depicts the image of a room with different furniture in a room. Indeed, we can see plastic chairs with metallic stands. The picture has a foreground and a background. I can see two white plastic chairs, one white plastic chair in the foreground. I can also see a small table with a flower vase with green flowers. On the background, I can see wooden stands that may be depicting a wooden chair. These items are resting on a while floor. Moreover, there are small items that add to the beauty of the foreground. Notably, from the bottom left to the top left corner of the picture a can see a brown floor below the white floor. As such, the picture presents two surfaces. The shadows of the objects suggest that the light is coming from the room. The bright colors, the lighting, and the contrast in the picture depict harmony, peace, and great artistic value. (“Emmanuel Gallery”) The picture depicts a group of white people in one room looking at one source of information, which is possibly a laptop. The laptop has a white cover and we can see pieces of art hanged in the walls of this room. In the foreground, I can a group of both genders paying close attention to the laptop and black person who is wearing a brown t-shirt and standing separately from the white people. In the background, I can see pictures hanged on the wall and more white people looking at the laptop. The background and the black person have dark colors while the foreground and the white people have bright colors. This depicts segregation and conflict. (“Emmanuel Gallery”) There are three parts in this picture. On the central part, the photo presents the face of a black man who is saluting. Moreover, we can see the head of a man with chains surrounding him. On the right side, I can see an image that is seemingly the curtain of a window and the source of light. On the right side, I can see a blank space with a dull color. This depicts that the picture of the saluting man and the chained man is a hanging on the wall. The chains represent the lack of freedom and the dull colors in the picture depict sadness although the lighting presents a glimmer of hope. (“Emmanuel Gallery”) This picture shows the image of a woman in a room with various paintings hanged on the wall and pieces of art enclosed in metallic chasings. The foreground of the picture shows the pictures of a man and a man hanged on the wall as well as large pots and other arts enclosed in different metallic casings. In the background, I can see the woman arranging some things and more pictures hanging on the wall. The room has good lighting, the hangings are dull, and the enclosed arts have bright colors. This is seemingly a museum or an arts gallery. The contrast in the picture depicts a perfect piece of art. (“Emmanuel Gallery”) The picture depicts the image of a wall with various hangings. The picture has only one part, the foreground. I can see seven pictures hanged on the wall. The hangings have a black frame and a white background. Most of the pictures are black and white. I can see a source of light on the right side that completes the beauty in the picture. Nevertheless, the picture has dull colors and defines harmony. This is a fine piece of art. (“Pearl’s Perception”) This picture shows the image of a structure in an open area. The structure resembles an enclosed facility that is seemingly made of glass in a model of a leaf. Indeed, the structure had a green frame. The background manifests a blue sky that depicts a cool and relaxing atmosphere. The brown metallic frame enclosing the green structure and the blue sky create a comfortable contrast that is appealing to the eyes and hence an attractive piece of art. (“Pearl’s Perception”) The foreground of this picture shows an enclosed green cover with sculptures of three giraffes standing on it. Two giraffes are standing while the seemingly younger giraffe is lying on the green grass. The adult giraffes are nursing the younger giraffe. The background of the picture shows the image of a green bush and a blue sky. The entire picture depicts giraffes on the field and creates a caring and relaxing mood. The colors used in the picture are very attractive. (“Pearl’s Perception”) This picture presents the images of a sweeping brush and a dirt collector lying on the ground. The dirt collector is blue in color and made of plastic while the brush has a wooden handle and red and grey bristles. There are also pieces of white pieces of paper that represent the collected dirt. The background presents the white and the cream walls. The surface is white in color with a brown lining. The combination of colors in this picture creates a confortable contrast and a nice piece of art. (“Pearl’s Perception”) The foreground of this picture manifests the image of a person who is bending backwards and standing on a white surface. The brown person is wearing tattered clothes that reflect leaves while his hands reflect branches and his legs reflect the roots of a tree. The background presents a green cover and a white wooden building with black glass windows. The combination of colors creates a good contrast while the representation of a tree depicts artistic creativity. (“Pearl’s Perception”) This picture depicts the image of a cartoon that is seemingly holding white balloons. The cartoon wears a smiling face and has a yellow head. The picture has a light colored background. The entire picture presents a happy feeling and the combination of colors is pleasing to the eyes. (“Pearl’s Perception”) The picture presents the images of five cartoons performing on stage. The cartoons are brightly colored and seemingly holding music instruments. The background presents black curtains and disco lights. The entire picture depicts a party mood and an entertaining feeling. The combination of colors is relevant for this environment. (“Pearl’s Perception”) This picture presents the images of two athletes on a stadium. The athletes are on a celebration mood. The images of the athletes are white in color while the surface and the background buildings are brown in color. We can also see a screen on the background that presents the actual feeling in a stadium. The light blue sky presents a good atmosphere for sports. (“Pearl’s Perception”) The picture above depicts a table room in a serene environment. We can see the red walls, the glass windows, the brown curtain, and the brown tables and chairs. I can also see colored paintings on the wall and several shelves filled with various items. There is enough light in the room and the combination of colors as well as the arrangement of furniture presents the image of a very attractive room. (“Pearl’s Perception”) This picture shows sculptures standing on a green surface in front of a huge stone building. The sculptures depict five insects with light blue wings. The background shows cars parked in front of a brown building that seemingly have many floors and offices. This manifests the entrance of government or non-governmental offices.
