Lyons, a very affluent but barren housewife and agrees to give her one of the twins Edward (Eddie) and remains with Mickey. The two twins, therefore, live very different lifestyles depending on their present household status. While Mickey lives a poor and desperate life according to the status of his family, Eddie lives a very flourishing life and can achieve so many things in life (Breinbauer & Maddaleno, 2005). He also ends up being more prosperous than his twin brother Mickey having achieved a university education enabling him to acquire a job as a councilor. Mickey, on the other hand, fails to make it in life (Cockett, 1996), a fact that later causes him a lot of pain upon realizing that his desperate situation has been brought about by his failure to be given away for adoption as Eddie.
The two, however, bear certain similarities in their characters that keep them close to one another despite their parents intentions to separate them. They keep on bouncing into one another and like almost the same things, the fact that keeps them close friends their entire lives. Just like any other twins, they end up being very good friends, though living accurately different lifestyles, till their death (Larson & Kleiber, 1993). They fall in love with the same woman (Linda), who later on becomes the main because of their common death. When they die, they also die together in the same way they were born together, same place, same time and under the same circumstances. As () mentions, Mickey and Eddie remained twins till their deaths though they lived separate lifestyles and under different conditions.
