Raphaels Madonna of the Meadow Madonna of the Meadow is a painting about humanism. Mathew describes the forms, textures, colors, and spaces that he suggests as a description of the human body and its pleasures. Jesus at the center of this painting with his fingers gesturing a show of direction is symbolic, on the last judgment Jesus will give directions on those who are to rise to heaven and those to fall. The title of the painting is an intentional protective making to make the image acceptable by hiding the nudity aspect. Beth suggests after all aspect of the art after viewers looking at the title then meeting the nude woman they give the picture improper understanding thinking about ideas of beauty.
