The wings of the eagle are spread; as if the eagle is in flight or about to take flight. A pillow attached to a wooden stick juts out at the bottom of the painting. It seems that the eagle is carrying the pillow as it is about to fly. The pillow is divided into two halves because of the way it is hung on a piece of thread (Kleiner, 2014). The different elements of the painting do not form a whole but rather seem like disjointed elements in the entire painting.
