The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl The story of this movie goes beyond the exceptional, well-appreciated success on the box-office to certain critically analyzed negative aspects; such as over saturation with pirate fantasy and role of Captain Jack Sparrow overriding audience` insight on movie`s plot and other characters. Apart from this, the movie is simply a clever and smart entity in Hollywood industry! Though originally meant for children entertainment, the plot has been utilized beautifully by the producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Through precious 21st century visual effects, versatile acting, soundtrack, and directing, the movie brings dramatic integrity and originality into the scenes. However, the plot alone could not have taken the movie to success peak; this credit is reserved majorly for uniqueness in character of Captain Jack Sparrow, among others. N Y times writer asserts that it’s the Jack Sparrow`s devilish and rogue appearances that keep the viewer engaged even when the plot does not comply (Mitchell, 2003) Script is yet another commendable notion for the movie, written by Tedd Elliot and Terry Rossio, known for 18th century conversation etiquette, vivid narrations specifying pirate livelihood, and energetic lines with shrieking uniqueness with every word delivered.

Story telling is adequate, though with sufficient gaps creating hysterical drama that keeps the audience busy every bit. The Pirates of the Caribbean, the Curse of the Black Pearl presents superb acting for visual engrossment, especially Captain Jack Sparrow`s frenzied wits, mellow comedy and expressions through woozy body language. Captain Barbarossa (Geoferry Rush) plays up the role second to none. His evil pirate nature depicts essence of pirate leadership quality, the one who is destined to remove the curse impinged on him and his crew.

As endorsed by many critics and reviewers, true to some extent, is the futile acting of the rest of the cast; although love affair between William Turner and Elizabeth Swann adds spice and frenzy to the story that is always welcome by the audience. The director Gore Verbinski who took over an already drafted movie brought some remarkable innovations in the film; Johhny Depp starring as Captain Jack Sparrow, rewritten script by Tedd Elliot and Terry Rossio and soundtrack modification are the foremost amongst his credits.

However, upon critical analysis it is evident that the screenplay was not luxurious or expensive one, neither the rest of the cast was highly paid but clever enough, direction was fabulous. The production team produced a worthy piece of entertainment with emphasis on visual and audio effects, editing and few grand and ambitious characters.
