Dorothy’s first meeting with the Tin Man depicts the use of sound effects as she hits his producing pinging a sound. The pinging sound implies his heartlessness or hollowness. The level of realism associated with this sounds enhance the audience relation of the movie to real life (www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-RHfXZkT1g). Music refers to musical soundtracks used in a movie.

Music dominates the entire plot of the movie, enhancing feelings and mood. The domination of music in this film suggests that the genre is musical fantasy. Though the use of music is somehow exaggerated but it helps define the emotions depicted in the movie. The musical depth is crucial in helping shape the main characters of the movie. The use of music in the movie dictate the mood of the movie and hence influencing the audiences ((Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2011)). In some instances, it inspired sadness others happiness and even fear.

Had music not been significantly used in the movie, the whole concept of the script from characterization to theming would have been altered. Perhaps the absence of music domination in this movie would render it as an emotionless fantasy tale.ReferencesFleming, V.
