Interpretation The man holding an arrow with the hand extending hat to unseen target can invoke many interpretations. The first interpretation canbe made of a man hunting for food because the green and fresh background indicates a man in a natural environment trying to find out how to survive or get food to eat from the jungle. In fact, the face is relaxed with one eye closed to improve his focus on the identified prey. May be the picture can be describing the ancient man who lived peaceful with the environment and had plenty of food to hunt especially the edible wild animals (Yusoff 781). Therefore, there are many lessons that the picture can teach the modern humanity. For one, the picture teaches the modernity the importance of peaceful co-existence with the environment. By standing on a deep and richly green background, the man at this time seemingly cares for his environment because the picture does not show any element of destruction whatsoever on the environment. On the other hand, the man has a relaxed face towards the target an indication of a peaceful man who passionately hunts for food and also for fun. In this regard, the picture can teach the modern humanity the importance of wild animals especially for gaming purposes like hunting because hunting is a sport (Wilkie et al 124). If the modern man can emulate the particular character and view the wild animals from a different perspective than just food, it will be possible to conserve the wild animals to serve man’s recreational purposes because the facial expression also indicates a man enjoying himself in the jungle hunting for pleasure and passing time. Interpretation 2 The picture can also be viewed from the different perspective of humanity and civilisation. If viewed from another perspective, the green background can represent the humanity during the era of least civilisation. However, as the picture extends further, there is a bright light in form of an ocean that opens up into a bright background. Therefore, this bright background can be compared to how civilisation has changed the world into a better place (Lowenthal 3). In this regard, the picture teaches humanity the importance of civilisation because the character holding the arrow and the bow is wearing a dark-brown outfit that can be linked to the clothing of humanity before civilisation. As such, the picture teaches man to appreciate civilisation because it has made life bright like the bright watery background. On the other hand, the picture shows the tremendous developments that man has gone through since the onset of civilisation because the two backgrounds compares the bleak and dull lived in the olden days to the modern bright and exciting life that is also enjoyable and fun. The assumption on the differences in life existing in the dark-green and the bright backgrounds is also indicated by the facial expression of the character. Although he may give an impression of a relaxed hunter, his overall expression is that of a dull person with no other things cheer him up except for the hunting. Therefore, from the picture, mankind can learn to appreciate civilisation that has brought liveliness, brightness as opposed to the dark days when man only co-existed with the wild animals and only found fun hunting in the bush (Connery 210). Interpretation 3 Another important interpretation coming out of the picture is the comparison of the environmental conditions between the dark-green background and the bright silver or the silvery background to the far left of the character. A careful and closer look of the two backgrounds reveals that the green is more comfortable, relaxed and has that aesthetic feeling of natural vegetation. On the contrary, in the silver background, there is too much light that can be associated to stress and existence of a large intensity of life consuming the elements existing within the environment. In this regard, the climate conditions of the older days and the modern days can be compared. In the older days as the picture suggests, the environment was cool, pristine and natural (Bourges et al. 74). The natural environment is free from human stresses, life is enjoyable, and there is plenty of fresh air. In fact, the facial expression of the character does not indicate a person stressing himself to breathe the fresh air in the natural environment within the green background. Conversely, the bright background to the furthest left of the character represents the stressful life of the modernity where the environment has been destroyed, vegetation cleared and the increasing population survives on the limited fresh air and as such, the situation adds a stressful life in the modern world (Burbank et al. 615). The picture, therefore, teaches the modernity the importance of conserving the environment as the source of fresh air. In this case, if the modern humanity can appreciate the importance of environment in overall happiness and peaceful co-existence then the world could have been a better place without having to worry about global warming, climate change, pollutions, deforestation, and poor waste management among other contemporary problems. Interpretation 4 The most important interpretation that obviously comes into mind at the view of the picture is the man holding a bow with the hat as the arrow. In this case, the first impression of his action is of a man who tries to make peace with an unidentified character. By pointing a hat as an arrow to the target, the gesture can be indicating a peaceful plea that the man wants peace with the target audience (EXPERT 132). On the other hand, the facial expression, though calm, can alternatively represent a man who is a conflict with his consciousness and tries his best to consider amending the mess. In fact, his gesture of a hat to the unidentified guest can be equated to the saying ‘‘throwing in a towel’’ to imply that the man is ready for a peace deal. On the contrary, the presence of a bow is also an indication of war and this contradicts the use of a hat as a weapon for the unidentified war. Therefore, the picture can teach people that war not always the solution to every conflict because the man holds a bow a sign of war but uses a hat as weapon but the hat is a representation of peace (McAlister and Brittanie 34). The picture interpreted to contrast the modern and the early man before civilisation can teach the modernity to make peace instead of violence, wars, crimes, and every social vice in the society. In this case, the modern humanity should also throw in a towel that the character throwing in a hat to the unidentified character as a sign of peaceful co-existence on this earth. Interpretation 5 A hat is a symbol of making peace, arbitration or bowing down or in other words, surrendering in a situation (Biddle-Perry 114). In this case, the man presenting a hat to unidentified destination is an indication of an attempt to make peace or end a raging conflict. However, a closer look at the picture reveals two conflicting backgrounds of dark-green and silver bright surrounding. In this case, it can be interpreted that the man is trying to make peace or end the human conflict with the environment that has brought about the destruction represented by the silver open air area that seemingly has no clouds to cover the sky to bring in the cool and perfect climate. In contrast, it can be interpreted that the green areas where the man is standing shows the regions where man has no conflict and co-exists mutually with the environment as an indication of what the environment may look like when people reduce the conflicts they have with their surroundings like overexploitation, lack of action on negative activities towards the environment and failure to recognize the importance of environmental protection and conservation (Čuček, Jiří and Zdravko 14). Alternatively, the hat shows the importance of peace in the world where the green areas where peace exists are free from violence and wars while the silver and excessively bright areas symbolise the chaos brought about by wars in the society.
