Human Resource Management of Human Resource Management The present paper compares and contrasts Human resource management of the airline retail industry and the automobile industry. The core values, vision and mission of Boeing and Toyota are analyzed and recommendations are provide for Human Resource Strategies. The two most profit generating industries in the world are the automobile industry and airline industry. While comparing and contrasting both industries in terms of size, products and services it can be said that there are major differences. The airline industry offers services and the automobile industry offers products. The automobile industry products are cars, sports utility vehicles, light commercial vehicles, heavy trucks, pickup trucks, buses, and recreational vehicles. The size of both industries can be analyzed with the help of the target market of each industry. The target market of the airline industry is usually the niche market. However, the industry also offers their services to the economy class. On the other hand, the automobile industry is targeting the niche as well as mass market. For the automobile industry, the vehicle regulations are the most crucial element for managing activities and processes. The reason is that the automobile industry must satisfy the requirements of vehicle regulations and other environmental and safety concerns. On the contrary, the airline industry faces many regulatory environmental issues. It is because the airline industry is one of those industries that get affected by the change in international and domestic regulatory environment. The economic condition of the airline industry has improved after the recent financial crisis because it is generating high profits with the help of high fares by providing high-quality services. However, it remains as one of the most volatile industries. On the other side, the economic conditions of the automobile industry are also improving with the use of the latest and new technologies in the automobile products. Boeing Boeing is related to the company that provides aircrafts to its customers. Boeing mission comprises of vision, values and business imperatives. Vision People working together as a global enterprise for aerospace leadership (Farfan, 2013) Mission The company mission is to innovate and imagination to the future. The company mission is showing that there is need of some strategies that will help the company to make it easier for achieving the goal. Future plans of the company are required to build so that the company will move forward to increase its efficiency. The need of change in the human resource management will bring a change in the company. “We are constantly re-examining our capabilities and processes to ensure that our company is as strong and vital as our heritage. In fact, our culture mirrors the heritage of aviation itself, built on a foundation of innovation, aspiration and imagination” (Farfan, 2013) The strategies that could improve the performance of the company include best recruitment process, advance training and development facilities, increasing service centers. Recommendations Recruitment Process Recruitment process refers to selection of employees after testing and interview. Further interviews are taken afterwards to choose the best candidates from the list to appoint them for particular job. The recruitment could be done for the specific area and could be done worldwide (Kearns, 2010). The company is applying external recruitment process in order to get valuable people involve in it. The company is facing the lack of efficient performance of fresh employees. The proper and effective recruitment process will led the company to get valuable candidates to take part in the organization. The company hires professional employees from all over the world and there is no restriction that the employees should be of particular country or city. The company mission is to work on global basis and for that they are applying the recruitment process at large. For the purpose the company could use online service that has low cost. Development and Training Training and development increase the efficiency of the employees. The training would enhance their skills and they would be able to give more response to the organization. The company is applying development and training at large. The company mission is to provide best airline facilities to its customers and for that purpose the team is working on the task. Training and development will make the company to reach the position that could not be possible without the effective and efficient training. The company should apply advance training to train its employees. Highly trained employees will lead the company to achieve the goal. Increasing Service Centers Service center is the place that is used to encourage the customers to trust the company. Services that are provided for the products and other matters could be solved at the service centers. The organization maintains its service centers and promotes its product and services to capture wide market. The company has various service centers that are providing different facilities to the customers. These service centers are the way of promoting business along with the achievement of goals of the business. The company should increase its services centers, manages and renovates them after some period in order to facilitate more people. In addition the company must also provide training to the customer service centers employees to communicate with different people. The customer service centers will help to fulfill the requirements of the customers. Toyota Company In the automobile retail industry, Toyota is one of the leading companies that have the first retail dealership. The company is focused on a global vision and aims to sustain its edge in the industry. Toyota is focused to enhance its HR management to be competitive in the industry. Vision – “the Right process will product right result”. Values Toyota’s HR values are based on the following aspects: 1. Teamwork and Corporation – social communication 2. Hunger for the innovation – enthusiasm 3. Consistent decision-making Mission Statement The company acquires global vision to persuade its business activities and HR practices. The company has constantly grown and gain reputation in the automobile companies because it’s dedicated commitment to the quality and innovation. Toyota will lead the way to the future of mobility, enriching lives around the world with the safest and responsible ways of moving people. The business practices of the company stress on the legitimate and define framework of duties and responsibilities nurtured in flexible and adaptable working environment. The selection and recruitment process of the company is multi-layered as it ensures standardized behavior to ensure the selection of the talented individuals. Toyota adopted Lean Manufacturing strategies, and implies in it’s ever operations in order to reduce the unnecessary costs and attain higher outcomes. In addition, the company makes use of employee separation to ensure that the employees of the Toyota are engaged with a greater dedication to the company. Recommendations On the basis of the information gained from the industrial analysis the recommendations for Toyota are as below. It is essential for the company to hire and recruit people that are talented and skilled across the globe. Thus, the company should stress of external recruitment process through making use of renowned employment agencies. The recruitment process of the company will be coherent and the company can hire talented individuals. It will overall save the time and bring greater benefits for the company. Toyota extensively relies on lean management practices that are inclined towards cost effectiveness. Therefore, it the company should adherent global talent management strategies. It would significantly impact the company’s recruitment process by hiring and bring talent individuals across the globe. The training and development programs of the company should be constantly improved and amended assessing needs of its employees. It is essential for the company to provide adequate training and briefing to its employees in order to establish effective working environment, free of discrimination and biases. The compensation and reward system in the company should be strengthened focusing on monetary and non-monetary needs of employees. The company should stress in developing compensation and reward system based on the level of the skills and talent of is employee. It will gain higher motivation and job satisfaction. The work system should be improved by adopting the use of advanced technology to develop stronger communication flow within the organization.
