Because of increased challenges in health care, Marquis and Huston (2008) denote that fresh ways on how to go about the challenges facing health care, not only within the organization, but also the health care continuum. As the CEO, I am mandated to preserve the favorable attributes of the existing health care system in the organization while centering on the fields that require improvement. In addressing the issues above and in tackling the errors that happen in the course of giving health care services to the patients, making care safe will help in improving the quality of health care services.

In reference to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (2008), health care correlated errors scathe millions of patients in the United States. Needless to say, health care errors also cause increased health care expenses. Approximately 1.8 million health care related contagions come about annually leading to approximately100 thousand deaths. In addition, inauspicious medication incidents contribute to more than 780001 injuries and deaths annually (Department of Health and Human Services, 2011).

In reference to Gulmezoglu et al (2000), to articulate this to the health care service provision, the health care suppliers require to be inexorable in attempts to decrease the “risk for injury from care”. Needless to say, the care givers should aspire to attain zero harm and a system that consistently renders high quality health care to all. However, implementation of this plan is not easy. Such a system needs a blueprint of standard operating procedures, diverse care givers with corresponding expertise, workloads that give sufficient time for correction of errors and leadership that encourages progress.

Most of the health care services are not designed to meet the requirements of the patient. Rather, health care services center on conditions and regulations devised with little input and focus on the patient. Because of this, change is required in the organization. As the CEO, I consider that the health care services should be altered to ensure a patient centered care. In reference to the Harvard Interfaculty Program for Health Systems Improvement (2006), health care should provide the patient with a responsibility.

Health care should adapt to the patient situations as well as dissenting languages, cultures, disabilities, social back grounds and literacy levels. This care focused on patient needs sees the people as multifaceted individuals rather than a carrier of symptoms or infections. Implementation of a patient centered care will ensure that the patient’s response on their “penchants, preferred outcomes, and experiences of care are incorporated into health care delivery within the organization” (Harris, 2010).

This is an effective way of managing the organization. However, the success of such a strategy requires partnership between the patient and the health care provider. In essence, this required shared responsibility and power in decision making between the health care providers in the organization and the patients. Moreover, this calls for patient’s right of entry to apprehensible data and resolution support implements that assist them handle their health and go through the health care delivery structure.

Over the past decades, health care costs have increased at a high rate. Such increases have put a load on families and individuals who see an immense
