Óscar Arnulfo Romero Galdámez is known as one of the most influential patron saints of El Salvator and America as his teachings were most adopted by Salvadorans and Latin Americans. Like many other pastors he did not try to be a part of the political life rather he decided to act as a moral guide and critic to the nation and other political parties. His teachings mainly revolved around human rights and the reduction of social injustices. He was more of a voice of the poor and wanted political parties not to include the church for their own personal interests (Brockman).

According to a survey it was seen that 55% of people of the U.S. are true followers of religion still many times conflicts are seen between the government of the U.S, churches and other religious groups regarding the actual meaning of Christianity and religious freedom. It has been observed that people may believe in God but they do not remember the actual teachings of Jesus. When we talk about what Romero would say to the people of America regarding their mission by God then it would be spread to a large number of areas because today America has lost its way not only in forgetting the principles of humanity, social justice and equality but they have also forgotten to share happiness and love with each other.

Today in the U.S., it is seen that people are not much keen to celebrate holy occasions. If he was living today he would have definitely invited people to celebrate these occasions for they were set by God with the aim to remember the sacrifice their ancestors did in the name of religion. He in his first pastoral letter had invited the Salvadorans to celebrate Easter as it was the coming of the Holy Spirit of love and truth. He would have also called upon the churches existing in America to identify the importance of Easter, for Easter was born from the side of Christ. Also, reminding them about the main elements of the Church which are to create a community drenched in love for Christ, accept his preaching and support Church and the grace of Easter (Romero, The Easter Church).

He believed that if Church acts the right way the whole nation can be brought back on the right path. He always wanted the church to concentrate on purifying the hearts of people and helping those who are in suffering and stay away from political affairs. He would ask the American churches to do the same (Romero, The Easter Church).

Today in the U.S. it is seen that the strength of Christianity is fading away, people no longer brighten the hopes of those who have gone through anxiety and suffering. They no longer know where they come from because they have lost interest in history this is why they are unable to guide those who need guidance. According to Romero, the real mission of the church is to help the poor as they always have a special corner in the heart of God. He would have told the people of the U.S. not to stay quiet in front of sinful activities just like he had asked the Latin Americans to protest against the assassination of Bishop Antonio Valdivieso, Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas and Bishop Juan del Valle.

The mission of the U.S is in his eyes is to eradicate suffering, injuries, and deaths caused by personal and political riots and to fight hunger and poverty. He throughout his life humbly guided the merchants to be fair to the workers. He told his listeners that with a proper understanding of the Gospel both religion and worldly life can be balanced. Today the U.S. nation is fighting to attain this balance in such a situation he would have reminded the people to remember the teachings of the bible so they would stop discriminating amongst each other and treat each other with respect, dignity and equality.
