Hypothesis Testing All hypotheses were tested using a 0.05 level of significance (α = 0.05) and a two-tailed or non-directional analysis. To facilitate the correlation analysis, the interpretation tables were also used. Table 1, which was used ton interpret the Pearson coefficient of correlation was excerpted from a couple of books in statistics (Monzon-Ybañez, 1993; Portney and Watkins, 2009), while the rest of the tables were researcher-devised. All tables used in the interpretation are shown in the appendices. 1.0 Hypothesis 1: Gen Y consumers who have more positive attitude toward internet apparel shopping have greater intention to purchase apparel through the internet than do consumers who have less positive attitude toward internet apparel shopping. To test the first hypothesis, the attitude of the general Y consumer towards internet apparel shopping taken from the survey responses in Question 11 were correlated with the consumers’ intention to purchase apparel through internet apparel shopping based on the survey responses in Question 12. A screen shot of the SPSS output of the correlation analysis is shown in Figure 1.
