Autobiography (For religion) Popular culture has shaped up our lives so much so that we have lost the meaning of life. Being with friends and family members is a gone commodity since our lives are so much on the move. We are busy with the different undertakings of our lives in a manner which asks us to devote our time to nothing else but our commitments. We have lost the essence of imparting time to the ones who are close to us, the ones who are in trouble and need and the ones to whom we owe our love and gratitude. When it comes to religion, we have lost the path on which our forgiveness is destined. We seem to part ways with virtuous acts and fall time and again on the road which leads us towards evil and wickedness. I understand that my life has lost its touch ever since I have grown up and started to understand the life around me. I have comprehended the fact that this world is full of people who are hypocrites and who seem to get their work done by hook or by crook and this does not mean that I am not a part of them by any means. I have this thing in me that I too want to get my work done in the most effective and easy to do manner that there could be possible. I am so much into the advents of science and technology that my own basis has been hidden beneath this technological progression. I have not met my own self over the years – such is the presence of science in my life as well as the innumerable people who are around me. All of us seem to be running after one thing or the other yet we do not find peace with our own selves and the ones with whom we live. The innovations of the present era have similarly brought problems for all and sundry. Undoubtedly these technological inventions and changes have solved our problems but when seen in the midst of our physical existence, we have not gained much over a period of time. In fact we have lost on this count by any stretch of imagination. There is just so much that can be done through finding out the real meaning of our existence yet we are shelved in our own worlds where there is nothing else but progression for one matter or the other. We just cannot seem to find time for the things in our life which hold supreme value and importance. These seem to take the backburner on a regular basis and hence our lives have become pretty much the same over and over again. One cannot really blame the advent of science and technology on our forgetting to being own selves because science and its various tools are there to help and facilitate us and in no way be the substitutes for the people, the religion and the way of life that used to be so much close to us when we were young and when we did not care about anything apart from our loved ones, our family and the joys that childhood brought with it. The chord by Sting seems to speak what is in my heart. I have lost the divine values and my belief system in religion and the Church has seemed to be upset by the norms which rule my everyday life. This means that I am so much into the present day regimes that my world is being ruled by those factors time and time again. I have lost my own self in the midst of things and have focused on matters which hold little or no significance at all, if seen in the proper context and scheme of things. The Holy Church was supposed to be close to me and my existence yet it has taken a back seat in my present day life and I do not understand why such is the case with me in the current times. This has got to do with a lot of happenings that are happening on the global front, of which I am a quintessential part without a shadow of a doubt. There is so much that I can give back to my religion yet something or the other happens and all my beliefs and values fall flat on their face and thus my journey towards attainment of my religion in the truest sense takes a nosedive. The popular culture has changed my life to the extents that I have forgotten my identity and my true self. This means that there are a lot of wrongs which are currently happening within my life and which demand amendment all the same. There has to be a unity of purpose within my actions and within my thoughts and my behaviors should manifest what I think and perceive on a consistent basis. Popular culture has actually shaped up my life in huge proportions and I have started to see my life and my religion in a totally different perspective. This was not the case in the yesteryears when I was a lot more devout towards my religion. I seem to be on the falling end when it comes to my religion and I know I do not like it at all deep down inside. This has changed my life levels similarly. It has given me food for thought as I have come to understand what life is all about and as to how I can change and eventually correct my life in the times to come. However all this seems to go out of the window when I think of the new day in which I open my eyes. A new day brings with it a new opening and I forget what I had thought about correcting and amending my own life. What I can believe however that I will remain glued to my God and my religion will hold supreme importance for me at the end of the day and this indeed is my utmost hope, wish and desire.
